The first machine went bad in 6 months. After much wrangling and me sending it out of state (at my own cost-around $40)they said it couldn't be fixed and finally sent me a new one. The second one lasted even less time than the first one! I didn't even bother going through the hassle again so just threw it away. And what i mean by hassle is numerous calls to Krups and the repair shop they had me send it to. Both times the water and the hot plate just quit heating.
