Like the rest of you who have a Krups Mocka Brew, I think its fantastic! Nevertheless, there are only so many of us, at least in North America. For whatever reason, Krups does not aggressively market the Moka Brew and does not sell as many Moka Brews as its other (inferior) models. Maybe its because of the instability of Krups' management/owenership. Frankly, I don't know any more which conglomerate owns Krups today. Is it still Lucifer (P&G)?When demand is small as compared to ,for example, #4 filters, you don't have many companies making filters for the Moka Brew. I don't know of anyone besides Krups who makes filters specifically for the Moka Brew. Also, you can't get permanent gold filters either. I'm no economist, but with small demand and small supply, you get higher prices as compared to filter sizes where there is competition. Krups essentially has a monopoly. They can charge whatever they want. Under these circumstances, I am very grateful that they make a high quality filter. They could try to get by with an inferior quality product, but they don't. The filter sold on Amazon is, in fact, of better quality as compared to the quality of other filters (#2 & #4) I have bought in the past. I understand that they might sell more Moka Brews to the Euros. Maybe someone else will start making filters and we'll have some good 'ol competition. Until then, be thankful that someone at Krups understands that Moka Brew customers expect quality, and we get it with the Krups Moka Brew Filters.

Bought this product after drinking great coffee in Amsterdam that was pressure brewed,[senseo one cup],and this machine is close but no cigar. The taste from this machine is better than drip machines but not as frothy as the Senseo.Senseo draw-back is buying your coffee in those pods, very expensive. This machine is low pressure, maybe the difference in taste.

I have had a Krups Moka Brew Coffee Maker for over 1 Year. Every time I ran out of filters, I became annoyed because the filters were "Not Available" and severely overpriced. So I tried a couple of alternatives. You can purchase Chemex Filters --- From which you can cut 9 Moka Brew Size Filters from each 12x12' Chemex filter. That means that for the price of a single box of 100 Chemex filters (cost approx $10), you can create 900 Moka Brew filters (cost approx $54).Alternatively, you can purchase a package of 5 Yama Cloth Filters (cost approx $6) - which fit the moka brew perfectly. Each Yama cloth filter is reusable and will last approximately three months. Therefore a single package of 5 Yama Filters will last you for 15 months!!! Moreover, the taste of Moka Brewed Coffee with the Yama filters is substantially superior to the overpriced and constantly unavailable Krups Moka Brew Paper Filters. All in all, the Krups Moka Brew filters, are almost never available from any source - and when they are they are way overpriced. For me, the Chemex or Yama Filter alternatives are a MUCH better choice.
