This machine replaced our Krups Espresso Maker of 25 years. I had a good idea what I wanted in a machine and right out of the box this one filled the bill.
My inaugural espresso was better than the Krups of 25 years. Don't have any reason why but the taste was better, the creme fuller and less mess. Probably because it is a new machine and everything is better with a new toy. The tamper is pretty ingenious - will probably save on coffee in the long term simply because you fill it, rotate the handle until it stops and push the coffee button. I'm going to miss tamping the coffee as with the past machine - part of the process I suppose. The push button coffee cake ejector didn't work so well - still tapped the holder to release it - wasn't really expecting some new innovation.
Though a bit more than I would have liked to spend on an espresso machine, if it lasts as long as the previous Krups it will be well worth the investment.
As a side note - the espresso this machine makes is great and it will take some serious will power to limit myself to my once a day cup of coffee.

First of all, I am not a shill. I'm like you; I'm an endeavours, somewhat ignorant, espresso enthusiast desperately searching Amazon for an economical espresso machine. I searched high and low for a machine that was under $200 and would not explode, soon break, or produce "weak" espresso. This machine, although lacking in reviews, fits the bill. It is sleek in appearance, efficient in start-up time (about 45 seconds), and impressive in terms of espresso strength and milk-frothing-ability (that's right, I hyphenated that).

Love this machine. Was spending 5 bucks a day at the coffee shop and now happy brewing mine at home. Easy to use, let it get good and hot before you make your pull and it is very good. Miss the smiling faces and coffee shop but my machine is 1/2 paid for from skipping it.

Could have been better
Worked great for the first few weeks, then filter holder broke. Would try to find another brand for sure next time.

Great product for the money
This is a well designed machine that makes better espresso than the much more expensive French one we had before. Also very easy to operate - love the automatic tamper.
