While this will work for frothing milk, if you ever want to pour microfoam accurately look for a pitcher with a defined spout - preferably a spout that begins halfway up the pitcher wall.

This product is inexpensive and well constructed.

But I think I did a mistake my not purchasing a smaller pitcher. I have a Mc Coffee machine that makes a decent cappuccino and I needed a pitcher such as this one. Unfortunately, I did not notice that the size of this pitcher was too large given the length of the steamer in my coffee machine. I am the only one who drinks coffee in my household, so I usually need only a small quantity of milk for my cappuccino. But then I found out that if I use the quantity of milk I usually need, the steamer does not even touch the milk, because the pitcher is too deep.

So, I would recommend this pitcher highly if you routinely prepare at least two cappuccinos, but otherwise you may want to check carefully the size of both the pitcher and the steamer in your coffee machine before buying this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the style!, February 4, 2009

I bought this pitcher as a gift for my brother, who is an aspiring at-home barista, from me, who is an experienced barista. Several of the pitchers on Amazon were great, but I chose Krups because the unique style really caught my attention. I love the extended handle vs. the traditional!
Other than aesthetically pleasing, it's a great pitcher. No problems so far... it is good quality and serves its purpose very well. 20oz is the minimum size, I think, for making a drink for one person. It holds the milk and gives you enough room to comfortably steam and froth. I wouldn't go any smaller. Go up from here if you intend to make more than one drink at a time. Would definitely buy from Krups again!

I read several reviews before making my purchase, and followed the advice that warned against buying a pitcher that would be too small. The picture provided is not a true representation of the pitcher I received. Mine is 3.5 inches tall, 11 inches around at the top and almost 13 inches around at the bottom - it has a gradual flare. There is plenty of room when holding the handle to move this pitcher around to steam and froth without touching any part of the equipment. The milk does just about double in size. I am pleased with my purchase.

I have the Ariete Cafe Prestige espresso machine, which has a pretty short steam wand. This frothing pitcher is wide and short, allowing the wand to get all the way down to the bottom.

Bought this pitcher for my husband; he needed a larger one than the one that came with the espresso machine; works great; no more overflow spills on my counter; would purchase again; good buy!

It's a stainless steel pitcher. Not realy much to say other than it is a bit wider and shallower than some I looked at wich works well with my frother.

I've had this pitcher for over a year. It works wonders every time! I use it every day and it is still shiny. I bought another pitcher this year and give it to my sister as a Christmas present. Guess what? She loves it, too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get your steamed milk perfect with this attractive pitcher, July 24, 2009
This review is from: Krups XS5020 20-Ounce Stainless-Steel Milk Frothing Pitcher (Kitchen)
I paid $20 for this pitcher, but it is cheaper on Amazon. For the price I paid, I'd give it 4 stars solely because of price. But at Amazon, it is definitely a 5 star product. The reason it is important to have a stainless steel pitcher to froth your milk in is because you can get your milk to just the right temperature. You put the pitcher in the refrigerator before using to get it cold. Then when you are frothing, you know when your milk is done when the pitcher becomes hot to the touch. If you use a ceramic cup or some other container it becomes a guessing game. The lip where you pour the milk is a great feature that helps avoid any mess. The pitcher is also very attractive and easy to clean. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well constructed and shapely large vessel, December 24, 2008

I very much like the shape of this pitcher because it's diameter is larger than any other I've owned. I also like the angle of the handle, for that makes it easy to hold even for a larger hand. The pouring lip is nice and wide, reducing the drip of any milk which has not been frothed. My only complaint is that it is a larger pitcher and for single beverage, it can seem too large. On the other hand, it's better to have the option. I gave away my electric cap machine and use the Latte-Whip frother which is one of my favorite little kitchen gadgets. This pitcher also holds up very well to daily use with no signs of wear.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great litle pitcher, January 18, 2008

This is an awesome pitcher to steam milk in if you have an espresso machine it does a great job and heats up quickly because the stainless steel retains and evenly distributes the heat, also if your espresso machine is like mine then you know that its hard to get a cup under the steam wand but this slips right under it, also you can easily burn your finger using a regular mug but with this pitcher the handle is far enough away that there is no issue while holding onto it. 20 oz is plenty to make 2 lattes if your putting them in average size mugs. I also recommend buying a frothing thermometer so that you do not scold your milk, or if you have a thermometer the prime temperature is around 160-170 degrees Fahrenheit. Remember that this pitcher is pretty short but it holds a lot because it has a large diameter, and you cannot beat the price of 7.99 and free shipping especially if your an amazon prime member just click 2 day 1-click
