High tech?... No! Gadget Nirvana for the geeky?... No! Cutting edge to lord it over the clueless who don't have one?... Sorry! Could a Marine use it in combat?.. Probably not for long!

The length could have been too long or too short, but it's not. It didn't need to be adjustable, but it is. It didn't need a quick release clip so you didn't have to haul the lanyard loop over neatly coiffed hair or take a hat off to remove your electric gizmo, but it does.

There's something Zen elegant about a simple piece of gear that does what it's supposed to without all the hoopla and with nary a lick of disappointment. Loop this baby over your melon, hook up the gadget of choice (cell phone, in my case) and slip the electric doodad in your front shirt pocket. You will already be answering your phone when others are fumbling with phone holsters. You won't miss the incoming vibrate signal because your phone is insulated behind, clothes, belt and pouch. You won't have to add bulk to already bursting pants pockets. You will know immediately if your treasured, expensive, irreplaceable phone tries an escape with a gentle, understated tug on the neck ("Get back in there you little dickens!"). Sure beats having to retrace steps when you really have no idea where in your travels you lost your phone.

Instead of hanging it around their necks, some of my co-workers have looped the lanyard around a belt or belt loop, and dangled the phone in their pants pockets; they just un-clip the quick release to answer the phone and snap it back on the safety harness when they're finished. Seems like extra work, but to each his own. It does seem to contribute to their peace of mind. Anything to mellow out the co-workers, eh?

Is this neck strap going to solve the world's problems?... No! It just soldiers forward doing its duty with simplicity, elegance and responsibility. I, for one, will never again underestimate its usefulness, and you take it for granted at your own peril.

I purchased this neck strap after being somewhat unhappy with the Canon neck strap because it was not adjustable. I love this neck strap because it is adjustable and the camera can be removed from the strap easily even when it is around your neck. I would definitely purchase again.

I purchased this so I could hang my camera, or voice recorder around my neck when I needed to. It works great and looks great.

This device failed. The fine cord used to adapt to electronic devises has only a knot in it to keep it from pulling through the quick latch...and it fails to prevent pull-out. Apparently the hole in the plastic latch mechanism is to large. I bought three of them at the same time...all had low pull out force failure that is insufficient for the value of the electronic items to be attached.

I purchased the neck strap in July 2010, and it broke in August - just a month later!! The thin string loop that attaches to the flash drive at the end of the lanyard had detached from where it was secured up inside the little plastic piece. I was very lucky and found my $70 flash drive under the seat of my car.

This is more comfortable and sturdier than the straps that come with MP3 players, etc. The strap is soft & broad so it doesn't feel like it's cutting into your neck. Recommended.

I would have bought two, but the shipping would have doubled. A way to make the price look lower than it really is.

This thing is simple, but wonderful. I got it because women's clothes are annoyingly inconsistent about pockets, so I don't always have a place for my phone. I wouldn't have thought of it, by my partner wears his phone on a similar lanyard and it looks a little geeky, but I've preferred function to fashion for most of my life anyway.

After I got mine, my daughter asked for one, so I ordered a second one for her. Now I'm ordering a third one for my partner, because his lanyard is substandard and his phone keeps coming loose and falling.

Count this as not one recommendation, but three!

I had such a hard time finding a lanyard for my daughter's portable game system! I could not find one anywhere. Well, this one is perfect. It prevents her from dropping that expensive game system. It is made very well. Good quality. Great buy.

This is exactly what I needed, in order to STOP dropping, losing, breaking...etc. my cell phone! I NEVER miss phone calls anymore! Well worth the price...for me it's priceless!
