I spray painted the door glass and sure enough it made it into a mirrored surface.

If you're looking to get an antique finish on a mirror or make anything look like mercury glass, this is for you.
Kaitlynn
For this reason I'd highly recommend buying at least double the amount of spray you're expecting to use.

Anyone who has complaints did not know how this is intended to be used. You only get the desired "Look" when you apply the paint on the back side of the glass, or inside for a vase. It is the view through the glass that gives it the mirror like appearance and keeps it from getting scratched off. It works marvelously! I did a set of multi-paned, glass, french doors and the look was awesome! Then, when it was well dried/cured I painted white over the grayed paint, to match the rest of the door for the sake of appearance within what is now a bedroom. And from the outside it looks like a lovely mirrored door!

I have used this 3 x over the years. 1st time great, 2nd time not so good. This time great. The difference is that you have to READ AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!! The best result is with 5 THIN layers and let dry between layers (1-2 min). It really makes a difference. If you just spray it like regular spray paint, you will be very disappointed. It does not make a perfect mirror that you would use in the bathroom. But as a decorative touch - nice. I use to convert old storm windows into "faux" windows in my garden. It last several years outside before needing touch-ups

Worked great for what I was using it for (Martha Stewart DIY Mercury Glass). The only surprise was that the can was smaller than I expected. I assumed it would be the standard spray paint size - but it is actually about half that size. Came on time with no problems.

Similar to the last reviewer, I bought this to repair missing silver on a small mirror which is the backing of a sconce. Turns out that I didn't get much of a reflective appearance when I used it this way. It looked more like gray spray paint filling in the gaps of the mirror. So I totally scraped off the mirror silver leaving me with a clear piece of glass, and then sprayed it with the looking glass spray. It's not as clear and shiny when compared to a real mirror, but it does have reflection and for my purposes I think it'll do the job (eg, the faux mirror is mostly covered by the sconce and bulb). Don't expect the high reflective look of a real mirror. And by the way, it's smaller than a regular can of spray paint. Pay attention to the oz.

I first discovered this stuff at christmastime about 5 years ago when I saw it at Michael's. I used it for some kind of glass centerpiece made from a round vase and was amazed at the effect. You spray it on the BACK of the glass and the mirror effect shows up on the front. Recently I used it to turn two urn shaped glass vases into mercury glass-looking lamps. It looks great but the one I did outside when it was cold turned out runny so beware low temps. I also used it to turn ordinary glass-front picture frames into mirrors. Its a little foggy but I liked the "antique" effect it gave which can be enhanced by spraying a little cleanser, like Green Works onto the dried surface. Apparently people pay a lot of money to glaziers for this effect. All-in-all a great product with lots of creative uses but if you're looking for a crystal clear mirror, get the real thing.

It took a lot of practice to get the look that I wanted with this product, but after figuring it out, I had mercury glass vases, candlesticks and Christmas balls galore. I found that to get the mottled look I wanted, I had to dry the paint with a hot blow dryer while rolling the paint around inside the balls. My only disappointment was that the finish is not as bright a silver as the mercury glass products bought in stores.

This is a great, innovative paint product! First of all, the spray nozzle is wonderful. It is very easy to differentiate the end that the spray comes out of from the other side that you depress. They have the side that dispenses the product marked with a square silver patch. Makes it easy for those of us who are visually impaired!

Secondly, it truly does look like a mirror when used as directed! You have to spray the inside of the item that you want to look like mirror, not the outside. Therefore, using this on anything other than glass will not work. It has to be able to show through. If you paint something directly on top, the paint will look like just plain metal, this is the side that you see, but when you paint the inside of a glass, the underside of the paint looks like mirror. I actually saw on Pinterest an idea where someone painted the base of a lamp with this paint...which is why I purchased it. The look we were going for was a metal base. It worked perfectly for this.

So, you can use it two ways: 1. to make glass appear as a mirror; or 2. to make any item appear like it is actually metal.

I only gave the product 4 stars instead of 5 because they should have included a long nozzle attachment for getting into the bottom of a glass. We tried using this on a tall Coke glass, but it didn't come out good because in order to get all the way to the bottom of the glass, we had to point the can toward the bottom, spray until there is enough build up of paint, and then roll the glass around to coat the bottom half of the glass. It didn't come out at all. It just looked like metal.
