If you're looking into buying this bracket, i suggest you don't.
Jazmine
Impossible to take of bike once fitted, difficult to install, the screw stripped the lining of the bolt when I installed the bracket.
Owen
This product is very poorly made, principally because it doesn't work with many locks and it's difficult to mount.

When this thing breaks, it breaks hard and fast, without warning, and after only 1000 miles. Then, after bracket snaps, the lock hits the ground, and bounces up into your spokes. Ouch. In my case, it hit the spokes, flew up in the air in downtown rush hour traffic flew about 75 feet, sliding to a stop at the feet of a street cop. (Embarrassing!) At least there would have been someone there to clean up the mess if this thing had wedge in my wheel.

The lock is freaking heavy steel. Give me a mounting kit that is actually strong enough to hold the lock.

I would NOT recommend. This thing is a hazard.

I agree with what another reviewer has said. When this thing breaks, it does so dramatically. I've been using this bracket for about a year. I had been happy with it up until the day the mounting strap snapped in two, dumping my lock in the road. There were no visible warning signs; the plastic wasn't slowly eroding or aging, the plastic wasn't cracked or fatigued, the bracket had never taken an impact or been damaged in any way. It just suddenly snapped in two pieces while I was riding.

If it weren't for this catastrophic failure, I would give the bracket 5 stars. It does it's job perfectly, right up until the day it breaks to pieces for no reason.

Verified Purchase
This mounting device didn't even fit the lock I bought! It was too small - couldn't fit it over the lock to mount it! Really annoying as shipping it back is going to cost practically as much as the item!

If i could give this item zero stars I would. I just finished purchasing a Kryptonite Evolution bike lock, and was actually excited to put the "free" transportation bracket on my bicycle. I literally just spent the past HOUR trying to mount this stupid thing onto my bike. The instructions were easy enough, but the locking tab is a useless piece of crap. I was able to push it through the insert ONLY once, and then it wouldn't budge (and i didn't feed it through crooked, i actually heard it click the one time that it did.) No matter how hard i tried to push the stupid tab through, nothing happened. It just made my hands ridiculously red, and ridiculously sore. THEN, when i decided to take it off, i followed the removing instructions and that couldn't release the strap either.

I became so frustrated, and so irritated i just took a pair of scissors and cut the thing right off of my bike.
Then i immediately tossed it in the trash.

I AM SO HAPPY that i didn't actually pay money for this piece of junk.
If you're looking into buying this bracket, i suggest you don't.

I just spend one very frustrating hour with this "EZ Mount" Bracket. The end result? It won't tighten fully, leaving the bracket (and lock) to slide down my bike when I hit a bump. Just getting it 90% tightened required a herculean effort on my part, leaving my hands and wrists sore.

To add insult to injury, I now can't get it off my bike. The instructions simply say to insert a flat-head screwdriver into a slot, but that does nothing. Great. I'm going to have to cut this thing off my bike with a saw. What a waste.

This is one of the worst-designed pieces of nonsense I've ever come across. For such a good lock (I have the Kryptonite Kryptolok Series 2 Standard Bicycle U-Lock (4-inch x 9-inch) with 4-Foot Flex Cable), the bracket mount is atrocious. DO NOT BUY IT. If I could have given it less than one star, I would have. It holds the D lock reasonably enough, but the bracket mount itself is a pain in the arse to fit to any bike, and doesn't actually fit on my GT 2010 Outpost. It's cheaply made out of rubbish materials. It doesn't work the way it's meant to (with various parts getting in the way of other parts) and is just absurdly poor considering how good Kyptonite locks are.

Love the lock, hate the bracket. Avoid like the plague.

With this lock, it was so easy...to slice my hand open trying to release the "adjustable" strap. I followed the directions, and the tab would not budge when the screwdriver was applied to the location specified in the manual. Wouldn't you know it, the hole is so shallow that the screwdriver slipped out after being pushed 35 degrees? I'm supposed to believe they make quality locks, when this thing is so execrable? I'm starting to agree with the Kryptonite Jihadist. @#$!ing OW!

I have the Trek 11" U-lock by Kryptonite. This stupid thing was very poorly designed. For one, it's very difficult to adjust the strap. If you ever attach the strap to a bike, it is even more difficult to remove. You have to pull this plastic piece up to remove the strap. Obviously Kryptonite figured this would be easy, and there is a notch for you to use your fingernail. However, if you actually try to do this, you will only hurt yourself because the plastic piece is not flexible enough to move out of the way for the strap to recede. If you try to use another tool, the plastic will just snap, rending the entire thing useless. To be honest, I feel like chucking this entire lock through the window of Kryptonite's corporate offices. Every review of this item is 1 star, so that should tell you something. The lock itself works fine, but that doesn't matter now, does it?
