Time consuming installation, otherwise great,

This review is from: Kryptonite Stronghold Above-Ground Anchor (Sports)
The installation is not particularly hard, but it is time consuming. I wore out a cheap hammer drill that I had borrowed from a friend on the first hole, and ended up purchasing my own to finish the job - I used this: Makita HP1641K 5/8-Inch Hammer Drill Kit and it still took a few hours. I also wore out the masonry bits that came with the anchor and had to buy a second set. The anchor holes are pretty big - 5/8 inch diameter - so a cheap hammer drill may not be sufficient. Renting a drill is an option to consider.
A couple of other notes regarding installation: don't forget to wear ear protection! I was stupid and didn't, resulting in hearing impairment for the next 1-2 days. Also, carefully consider placement of the anchor - this seems obvious, but consider how you will be using it. I use it to lock up two bicycles inside my garage in conjunction with Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboutit 1415 Chain Bicycle Lock with New York Disc 5 Lock Chain Bicycle Lock, and I placed it fairly close (less than 6 inches) from a wall. I wish I had actually mounted it a little further from the wall, because to secure both bikes with the chain through the frames and front wheels, I end up having to reach underneath the bikes to lock/unlock them, which is cumbersome - it would have been much easier if the anchor was further from the wall. Lastly, make sure the holes are deep enough to accommodate the anchors before attempting to insert them - the fit is snug and they are difficult to remove if you find that you have to drill the hole deeper. Otherwise, it works as advertised.

Good Product, but you will need a hammer Drill,

Okay so I got this product to put on my Patio. It seems tough and came with two Drill bits. After about 45 minutes with a standard drill and destroying a bit. I went and got another bit which I also destroyed but was able to finish 1 of the 3 holes. Frustrated, Back to the hardware store I went...Talked to a sales guy and he said if I bought a Hammer Drill I would be done in less than 10 minutes. So I bought one and was able to drill the last two holes in five minutes, Installed it and I am happy. Cheaper hammer Drills are running about 60 bucks. If you are planning on using this on concrete its a good idea. So if you want to install this borrow or buy a Hammer drill if you need to. It will save you a headache.

It works great,
i don't know why the other guy would carry it around. it's not meant to be portable. you're supposed to secure it to the ground at your house or a permanent location. basically you drill the concrete, attached the lag bolts, put the cover on and that's it. then you use a kryptonite chain or something comparable and chain up your item.
