5.0 out of 5 stars This girl rocks!
She has somewhat the same style as Avril, but is much better! Every song on this cd is great!! I've played each one over and over again, the lyrics are powerful and positive. Praise God for the ministry he's going to do through this girl. And she's young so this music knows how to relate to the younger crowds, especially in her songs "The Way to Begin" and...

3.0 out of 5 stars In response to the criticism of conformity
I guess I'm not really your average Krystal Meyers reviewer. I've heard her songs, and I think they are decent, catchy tunes, though by no means are they exemplary. However, I would like to respond to a reviewer who gave one star not based on the music but based on what they thought of her image. Now, I am a firm believer in the fact that a believer needs to have a...

WOW!,
Krystal is an amazing singer, songwriter, and guitar player. This is the best CD i have ever bought. I listen to it everyday (not joking) She stands up for anticonformity which is great, and she is only 16. She has inspired me sooo much. All the songs are very catchy and you can never choose a fav song for more than a couple of weeks. Right now my fav song is "My Savior". This is a must have for any CD collection. If you don't get it your collection won't be complete. She is Awsome and my fav singer now. GO! Krystal Meyers you rock!

5.0 out of 5 stars This album is on "Fire", June 13, 2005
This review is from: Krystal Meyers (Audio CD)
This CD is a great Christan album with upbeat tunes and ballads you have to listen to over and over again. The whole album was produced by Ian Eskelin and The Wizardz of Oz (Avril Lavigne, Liz Phair, Angel Faith).

1. The Way To Begin-3:34-10/10: This is her 1st single and a good upbeat one at that. It has stayed #1 on the christian CHR radio chart for 5 weeks straight!! "I've reached the end, and you are the way to begin"

2. My Savior-3:31-10/10: The guitars in this song really give off a rock vibe. There is nothing else to say about this song, but the fact that it has a great meaning to it. "My Savior, I'm laying it at your feet, your love, it consumes me."

3. Fire-3:46-10/10: This is one of my favorite songs on the album. The lyrics are meaningful and the beat is just amazing and catchy. "You set me, You lit me, I'm on fire.."

4. Fall To Pieces-3:11-10/10: Another amazing beat. This is another of my favorites. It has kind of a happy feeling during the song, and i think alot of people can relate to it. "When everything around me, falls to pieces, i've got something more in my life..."

5. Reflections Of You-3:46-9/10: First ballad of the album that she sings really well on. Well writen and produced. "In everything i do, I hope you see relections of you."

6. Lovely Traces-3:52-10/10: In the begining it sounds like a sad song, but it lightens up in the chorus. The end part, where she sings "Lovely traces, Lovely traces" over the final chorus will get stuck in your head. "All the Lovely traces behind you. Turn around and you will see lovely traces to remind you...."

7. Anticonformity-3:02-10/10: This is the best song on the album. Alot of teenagers can relate to this song ( i know i can). It's about not letting the world influence your decisions, let God. My favorite part is the first verse where she says "It's all around, pressure from my so-called freinds...I'm measured by some stupid trend...everyone is just like them." "So I Anticonformity, I don't try to hard to be, I'm not what you think you see, Inside i've made a change..."

8. Rescue-4:30-9/10: The lyrics are really well written for this song, especially in the second verse. I really like in the end, when the music fades out and you can hear her voice going "Oh, Oh" "I'm tired of this fight. I need to let you rescue me"

9. Sing For Me-3:09-10/10: Krystal wrote this song by herself, and she did a really good job. It is a strong, powerful ballad talking about, even though she can't see him, she knows God is with her. "Sing for me one more song, play for me one more time..."

10. Can't Stay-4:01-10/10: A great way to end the album. A great fast upbeat song that will get you up dancing, especially near the end. Another of my favorites. "This time, I have to draw the line. It's gone way too far now, I won't wait another day. i need you, to fill the empty space and take me from this place. i can't stay."

Overall:10/10.

This is a great CD you will want to add to your music collection. Krystal co-wrote every song on here, and has a great voice.

5.0 out of 5 stars You have to get this CD!!, December 18, 2005
This review is from: Krystal Meyers (Audio CD)
Krystal Meyers is totally awesome. This is a great CD. Every song is worth listening to. Comparing her to anyone else really does not work becuase she is so much better than any other girl rocker out there. I saw her live opening for Kutless and that was really sweet. This Cd finds its way into my player quite often.

I really like Krystal's style and her stand! And I don't know what one reviewer was talking about when he/she was saying Krystal dressed/posed immodestly. The worst pic is when she's in a T-shirt and jeans and is leaning away from a boat rail. There's nothing immodest about it! Anyway, definitely buy the CD she's awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Avril Lavigne of Christian Music!, May 9, 2006
This review is from: Krystal Meyers (Audio CD)
Krystal Meyers is the real deal, and this amazing first CD is a must-own for any true Christian Contemporary music fan. Meyers has such energy in her singing voice that it seems to jump right out of the speakers and into the listener. This CD was released when Meyers was just sixteen, and with the exception of Bethany Dillon I can't remember anyone who possessed such poise, determination to become a success while keeping her mind focused on things above, and such a mastery of her chosen trade at that age.

If you don't already own Krystal self-titled CD, and you are reading this review, do yourself a favor and click on that BUY button. No matter how old you are, no matter what genre of music you enjoy, if you are a Christian, you will be inspired by Meyers' ability to worship with her lyrics and music.

Now, on with a song by song review:

1. THE WAY TO BEGIN: This song starts off with a call-out to God by one of his children who feels so far from Him. It is not only a song about trying to overcome the world that brings out our desperate cry for a life guided from above, it is a song filled with so much musical energy and lyrics that you could almost feel the anguish turning to hope as the song progresses.

2. MY SAVIOR: This is a fast-paced tribute to God's grace and mercy. If you've ever felt consumed by God's grace, and you wanted to just tell Him about it, you'll enjoy singing along with this great song.

3. FIRE: A slow-to-fast paced song that accurately examines how God's strength can be transferred to His children. When we are on fire for Jesus, we are renewed, energized, and ready to deliver His message through how we live our lives. I really love this song.

4. FALL TO PIECES: The world delivers a foundation that crumbles every time. This song reminds people that there is a stronger foundation out there, one that never crumbles, never falls to pieces. We're now 4 songs into the CD and Meyers has not faltered in her debut work. I couldn't even complete my algebra assignments on time at sixteen!

5. REFLECTIONS OF YOU: Slowing it down a bit, this song is about our futile attempts to walk as God has commanded us. Even when we fail to do that, this song is about our sincere hope that we at least sometimes get it right. Five great songs in a row have me wondering if angels aren't writing these songs along with Krystal. Can she make it 6 in row?

6. LOVELY TRACES: A bit of a falter on this one. I just didn't feel the usual power and energy that the first 5 tracks brought, but even the weakest song on such a great CD is still better than a lot of what's out there in the music industry today.

7. ANTICONFORMITY: Imagine a sixteen year making up a whole new world! How appalling and arrogant! Just kidding. This is such a fun, fast-paced song that you almost have to smile and nod your head like a Muppet on steroids. This is a mosh pit song if there ever was one. This is a work dedicated to calling all people to think about who, and what, guides their decisions as they live each day. Anticonformity warriors are on the loose! And their leader is Krystal Meyers!

8. RESCUE: This song is a little slow for me, with not a whole lot of pick-me-up jumps in the music. But this song lets the listener really hear Meyers' amazing voice. The drums on this song are really cool, too. The more I listen to this song the more it grows on me. That's kind of what the song is about; the more we trust God to rescue us, the less we will need rescuing.

9. SING FOR ME: Another slow song that gives us a better listen to Meyers' voice. This song has a few surprises that pick-it-up a notch here and there. Nine songs into this CD and I still think it is an awesome debut. Krystal Meyers has a way of bringing a punk-attitude to Christian praise and worship like no one I've heard so far. Her music and lyrics are smooth and rocky at the same time. That really doesn't even make sense now does it, yet she manages to pull it off.

10. CAN'T STAY: Well Meyers managed to - with the help of a host of others, of course - create a CD that delivers good, cost-worthy material that makes my drive to and from work a bit more enjoyable. However, on Can't Stay I will admit I sometimes find myself pushing on the gas pedal a little harder. We can't stay where we are away from God. This song is about rushing back to God. And it is now time for you (if you already haven't) to rush out and purchase this anointed CD. I in no way, shape, or form benefit from Krystal Meyers' success as a musician, so this review is without bias.

So that's my review of Krystal Meyers' debut CD. I hope you found it to be a reliable review. I look forward to reviewing her second CD. I also look forward to hearing her music when we are both residing in Heaven. When I imagine a Heaven sponsored concert with Meyers singing ANTICONFORMITY I can't help but smile. I bet Jesus smiles too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Debut, January 16, 2006
This review is from: Krystal Meyers (Audio CD)
This really is a great debut album from Krystal Meyers. Each song is lovely, she has a great voice and message. She's incredible live if you ever get the chance to see her preform, I saw her last night and got to hang out with her for a while. Krystal Meyers is a sweet person with a heart for God, despite her critics rantings.
