I like the funnel because I often need an exit that is smaller than a canning funnel.

The wide neck of the funnel makes transferring thick liquids (sauces or jams) directly into jars or other narrow mouth containers easy.

I found this one here, it is high quality stainless steel, well designed and not made in China.

The funnel is beautifully crafted in stainless steel. I like the funnel because I often need an exit that is smaller than a canning funnel. The pathetic description lacks the critical exit size. The exit allows for an inside diameter of 1 1/2 inches. The funnel exit will fit into an jar opening of 1 5/8 inches. The entrance inside diameter is 4 3/4 inches and the outside diameter is 5 inches plus a handle that projects 1 inch. The funnel holds almost 2 cups of water. I would recommend this funnel to a friend.

This Kuchenprofi 18/10 Stainless Steel Jam Funnel is well made, and it seems would be excellent for its purpose.

However, it has a smaller opening than I thought. It is a "jam" funnel, whatever that means, but I assumed it was a standard funnel. This funnel has a 1 1/4" bottom opening and is too small for my purposes. However, we are keeping it because it is good quality and may be useful later.

I bought this funnel for canning jams, salsa, and fruit. I have used it several times since I received it and it works great. Also, I wanted a funnel that was not made in China. I couldn't find one made in the USA but this one is made in Germany. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because the bottom opening is not as large as I expected it to be. While this has not been a problem with jam and salsa, I expect that it will be a problem for fruits such as peaches. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

This jam funnel is great for transferring thick liquids directly into jars or bottles. I was hoping to use this funnel and my fine kitchen strainer to pour espumas directly into my iSi 2470 Thermo Whip Whip Cream Whipper. But because the funnel neck is tapered, the funnel's neck doesn't completely sit onto my thermal whipper (less than a third of the neck goes in). iSi makes a funnel for this purpose (for about $30 each if you can find it sold other than in a 4-pack). I guess I'm back to using my small strainer and large Pyrex measuring cup.

I'm finding other uses for this funnel. I use this funnel for refilling peppercorns in some of my peppermills. I also use it when I'm counting my prescription tablets to help pour the tablets back into the large mouth prescription bottles.

This funnel seems to be made in Germany. The handle is a dual round loop welded to the funnel which does not cut into my fingers as I use it (compared to a flat stamped loop like most funnel handles). The top of the funnel measures just shy of 4 ¾" while the bottom of the funnel's neck opening is just a bit over 1 ½ inches wide. The neck of the funnel has a slight taper. The top opening is flared but the edge is not rolled. I guess on the plus side, a rolled edge could trap some food in but then if I can't see it and it's washed, does it really hurt? The edges don't seem sharp and the gauge of stainless is solid and shouldn't bend with normal use.

PROS:
Since it's made of 18/10 stainless steel the funnel will hold up with use.

The funnel can be useful when used with a small fine kitchen strainer for quickly straining liquids directly into a wide mouth container.

The wide neck of the funnel makes transferring thick liquids (sauces or jams) directly into jars or other narrow mouth containers easy.

CONS:
None so far.

I got back to canning this fall, I bought Bormioli Rocco Quattro Stagioni 5 Ounce Canning Jar, which I LOVE,LOVE however, the jar has a 2 inch opening and my canning funnel was too big. I did some research and in England, they use a "jam funnel". I found this one here, it is high quality stainless steel, well designed and not made in China. It fits my jars perfectly! I am delighted with it.

I bought this to put pasta sauce back in the jar after modifying it with additional herbs and spices. It easily fits in the top of the jar, and the sauce goes through the opening without any issues. Clean up is a breeze, and the construction makes me think I will never need to buy another. I'd be unhappy if I ever lost it and I really doubt you could wear it out in a couple of lifetimes unless you smashed it with a big hammer.

I like to invest a few more dollars to get a product that will last. This is that kind of kitchen tool -- well designed, quality workmanship. The funnel fits in more jars than my wide-mouth funnel -- this one is a bit smaller, but VERY stable in the jar. Nice to scoop and pour extra pasta sauce into the reused commercial mason jars that sauce is sold in. The screen is nice for straining stock. Highly recommend.
