I've got way too many weird whisks, but this is one I would not want to give up.

It's very useful for pan sauces, but shines when whipping/beating eggs and especially for stirring in narrow spaces (glasses, jars, pitchers, etc).

I prefer to use my "magic spoon" style whisk for salad dressings and other emulsions, but this one is close second...

NOT made in Switzerland, as one would imagine. The name and the tag, give the impression of being manufactured in Switzerland, but Not So.
made in China, the Whisk was returned to Amazon. Should be labeled, if I wanted to buy from China, I would have. I could go to a dollar store for Chinese made kitchen tools! Amazon should describe the products honestly.

I've got way too many weird whisks, but this is one I would not want to give up.

It's very useful for pan sauces, but shines when whipping/beating eggs and especially for stirring in narrow spaces (glasses, jars, pitchers, etc).

I prefer to use my "magic spoon" style whisk for salad dressings and other emulsions, but this one is close second.

Calphalon now makes a similar style (saw it at Target) that is noticeable larger. I haven't tried that, but I would prefer the flexibility of the smaller whisk, since I frequently use this for mixing in small containers.

It is all too easy to end up with too many kitchen tools. Cooking on a boat in very cramped quarters is how I learned the value of multi purpose tools, that do not require power which was in short supply when under sail. No engine running means no battery charging.
This whisk is a winner.

To whip eggs, the secret is to crack, up to nine large eggs, into a one pint measuring cup. Use a rapid side to side motion to break the yokes, then switch to an up-down motion to entrain air. Eggs need to be in a small tall container or they get away from the whisk.

Recently I discovered how effective this particular whisk is for keeping tapioca from sticking to a sauce pan. Push the whisk all the way down and gently sweep the bottom of the pan every one to two minutes and nothing will stick. Nothing else works as well, because the spiral spring when compressed conforms to the pan. Spoons and other whisks only make contact here and there.

Spiral whisks are easy to clean, just stick a spoon into the coil and twirl the whisk in water and dish soap. The spoon will scrape the spiral clean as the coil drags the spoon up and down. Other whisks are much harder to clean.

Construction appears to be very good. After two months of frequent use, the spiral spring has not deformed or tarnished. I was a bit disapointed that this whisk, while designed in Switzerland, is made in China. Thus I can't be certain as to the grade of stainless steel used. Unlike children's toys, which can shed paint when chewed on, the whisk does not appear to shed any measurable metal. This concern is much greater for stainless steel cookware, with its large surface area. Teflon I feel is much more of a danger. Finally glazed ceramic cookware can contain lead in the glaze. All in all, highly recommended.

If you like to make your own salad dressing, this whisk is an absolute must have! I make dressings all of the time and this whisk has helped improve their quality and consistency! I use this whisk a few times a week and love it!

Well, maybe whipping 5 egg whites at once would be too big a job but this little whisk will do nearly anything. It's fun to use and comes out of my drawer to beat eggs, salad dressings, and it really puffs up cream for whipped cream.

I saw this whisk being used on a television show (probably Food Network). I couldn't find one in a store anywhere so I purchased one from Amazon. Wish I would have bought one years ago. It is a great little whisk and is ideal for whisking in a pot. The design gets into the corner of the pot where the side of the pot meets the bottom and also thoroughly scrapes the bottom of the pot as well. I would highly recommend everyone have one of these whisks for their kitchen.

I have been cooking for about 45 years and have always used a spring whisk for sauces and puddings. The thing that always drove me crazy though, is that the handles were too short so if you wanted to leave the whisk in the pan for a minute or two and then come back to stir, most of the time it had tipped over and fallen in the sauce.

When I saw my friend making coconut cream pie filling and using a spoon and paddle to keep the filling from scorching I couldn't believe she never heard of a spring whisk. It makes the job so much easier. I decided to buy one for her, but decided I would look with one with a longer handle so she wouldn't experience the same frustration I always have. When I found this whisk I knew it would be perfect, so I purchased two, one for each of us. I have used it a few time and it has great spring action, a comfortable to use handle AND when it tips over, it does not fall down in the sauce because of the longer handle. I will give her the other one for Christmas.

Finally, a whip to make all other spring whisks pale in comparison. I love this whisk.

I bought this on Amazon because I had been searching for one all summer with no luck (in retail stores -- even the specialty stores and factory outlets! -- This one is a little pricey, but very nice, except for one thing -- the bottom of it is slightly convex and thumps on the bottom of the bowl or cup when I use an up and-down-motion, so I pretty much stir with it -- but it still works great that way.

The spring whisk is oddly difficult to find, so my husband was thrilled to find one on Amazon. It has held up well to regular use and has no trouble in the dishwasher. This style whisk is specifically designed for sauces, which it excels at. However, if you are looking for something to stir thick chunky batter like chocolate chip cookie dough, this is simply the wrong utensil. Like a fork -great at doing what it should, but no good for eating broth. :)

I love this little thing! I find it best for salad dressings, but I'm also reaching for it a lot more than my other whisks now. For sauces on the stove in a shallow saucepan, it gets right down into the liquid very nicely. Definitely worth having.
