Regular tongs and spatulas are usable but inferior for some tasks. This wonderful utensil fills in those gaps. For example, pan-seared shrimp with their ultra-short cooking time must be removed quickly to avoid overcooking. These Kuhn Rikon tongs allow you to turn or remove multiple shrimp in one pickup. Likewise with baked/broiled asparagus on a sheet pan multiple pieces can be removed at once without damaging their fragile skin. Don't throw the regular tongs away, but having the right tool for the job makes cooking more enjoyable. Also, the rounded wire is easy wear on non-stick cookware surfaces.

I got this to replace the "as seen on tv" wisk/spatula--which doesn't even compare. Do yourself a favor and get this item--I know you will love it. I use it for everything. (Scrambled eggs, French toast, fish, hard boiled eggs, steamed vegtables etc.) It's great on nonstick surfaces too. It saves time and space. You will be able to see and feel the quality as soon as you hold it in your hand. It's sturdy and it looks great. I am getting one for all my relatives for Christmas.

This is by far the most used tool in my kitchen. It picks up eggs without a problem, spaghetti, you can flip things with it, getting toast out of the toaster oven, burgers on the BBQ, the list goes on and on. I own 3 don't know how I lived without them.

I love these tongs. I purchased a shorter size about a year ago and then decided to get the longer ones. I don't know what I'd do without them. Great for turning everything from small rounds of zuchinni when I fry them to turning meat in the broiler. I use it to remove veggies like string beans and brocholi to serving up pasta. Great for wisking too! Just a must have item. Very strong and sturdy, easy to close and store in my drawer by the stove, cleans up easily....just a quality perfect product.

After seeing TV's commercial (you know, those cheap and useless stuff), we decide on this good one. The built of this one is great, it is definitely built for life time use. To our surprise, the spring handle is so strong, each time we use it, we feel struggle to hold it close - it's like a workout for you hands. We gave it to a younger couple, they absolutely love it.

My wife says these are the best tongs she has ever owned. They grip things very well without mutilating them. We have 5 children & she's owned a lot of tongs so she should know.

I love my Kuhn Rikon tongs, they are great to use for meat while cooking and serving. A nice look and use for serving salad and even better to store since they fold flat.

This product is great for grilling and serving vegetables - I have had one for a long time, I recently purchased 4 more for gifts and one to take along to our new winter home in Florida. My husband uses it more than I do - he loves it for the grill. It washes easy and hasn't rusted or pitted at all yet.

I only gave it four stars, because my husband doesn't like it. He doesn't think it grabs very well. However, think it's great. This may be because he uses it when he grills, and I use it inside in frying pans, etc. For me it is great.

When it was time to replace our old tongs that were used for the grill, I wanted something more than standard tongs. While silicone tongs are a good choice for some purposes, the would not have been appropriate for the grill's high temperature cooking. In researching tongs on Amazon and reading reviews, I decided to give the Kuhn Rikon 13 1/2 inch Easy-Lock tongs a try.

I am pleased to report these tongs work quite well for my family's purposes. The length is sufficient to prevent the user from working too closely to the grill's heated surface. The wide, flat tongs allow the user to turn fish fillets and vegetables without having those foods fall apart. Using these tongs for meats allows the chef to flip those products without piercing them, thus helping to keep the meat from bleeding out and maintaining its juiciness. I particularly like the locking mechanism on these tongs. It allows me to close the tongs when in storage and minimizes the amount of space they take up.

I definitely recommend these Kuhn Rikon tongs. They are a bit more expensive than standard tongs, but are well worth the money.
