When I first received the product it appeared by looks and touch to be dull BUT I bought it originally to match my kitchen. I was out of clean knives so decided to try and WOW or WOW what an amazing product. On the expensive side yes..............but as long as they continue to cut like they do now........they have become the favorite knives in the house by the entire family. It cuts hard sharp cheddar cheese like butter!!

The Kuhn Rikon Nonstick Paring Knife is a very good value for a quality knife. We own several of these knives in different colors for use at home and in our shop. The different colors allow us keep the ones we use to cut materials in our workshop from accidently being used for food products.

The blade is *VERY* sharp and holds it's edge very nicely. The nonstick coating on the blade is a real plus as it helps to keep the knife clean as well as to keep it moving through thicker items. The snug fitting platic sheath is a welcome addition to safely store or transport the knife.

My only complaint is the light feel of the plastic handle. It isn't flimsy exactly, just lacks heft. This might just be a personal prefference issue and it hasn't stopped me from buying more of them.

Overall this is a very good paring knife at a reasonable price. Recommended!

Best little knife I've every used. Bought one originally while on vacation in Colorado and immediately ordered three more when I got home.

This great little paring knife makes an attractive addition to any kitchen.

Does not appear to be full-tang,
Lightweight (this is just personal preference),
The blade is made in Switzerland but the plastic handle and sheath is made in China.

It has its imperfections but I'd buy this again. I don't have many other options as far as purple paring knives go.

Ok, well, I definitely had many reasons to marry my husband, but the first time we were cooking at his house when we were dating, I used this knife and fell in love with it! I never have used a paring knife that was SO sharp and so great to work with!! Before we were married, I even asked him to bring it along to my house when I knew we would be cooking. While I knew when we got married, we would "share" the knife, he surprised me one day by finding the exact same knife in pink, which I also love! You will LOVE these knives as your all around basic paring knife and you will always reach for them first (plus, with the bright colors and shield, you'll easily and safely always find them.) We bought these as gifts for our attendants at our wedding b/c we thought others should share in our cutlery joy!

These knives are wonderfully sharp and I just love them. Plan on buying another and some as gifts for friends. Like the fact that they have a cover to keep you from getting cut when the knife is stored. They will, like any knife, need to be sharpened at some point but not yet and I've had mine for over a month now. Try it, you'll like it.

I bought this knife for my girl friend, and she loves it. The knife is worth the money and it looks so flashy! I getting myself a PINK one soon!!! Syke! haha! Its a good knife all joking aside!!!

Buy 2 or more, you or your significant other will not be disappointed!

Very happy with this purchase. It's safe and easy to carry in my lunch bag.

I love having a purple knife with a sheaf for it. The blade is good and sharp. It does fit well in my hand. However, I have knicked myself several times because the back corner of the blade is not protected. You can see it in the picture and it's quite sharp and easy to get a finger too close when you're busy doing something like coring and apple or getting the stem off a tomato. I wouldn't replace it if I lost it or damaged it.

I'm a first year student at a culinary college and I was the unfortunate victim of of a considerable amount of theft, all in all I had about half of my $800 knife kit stolen over the course of a couple months, leaving me scrambling for equipment. I went down to the local kitchen shop in search of a paring knife and found the Kuhn Rikon 4" for $10. I've had it for about 4 months, been very abusive to it and it still glides through veggies without a problem. The previous paring knife that the school supplied was from mercer, it cost about $30, and barely held its edge for an average class period (5-7 hrs). If you're in the market for an affordable and reliable paring knife I definitely would recommend getting it. Some of the other reviews complained about not liking the handle weight because of personal preference, I have large hands and I actually enjoy the lightness and maneuverability of this knife.

Because I'm in Baking & Pastry I don't need very many knives, but I plan on buying a Kuhn Rikon Santoku to fill the gap left by my stolen equipment.
