These are fantastic! Opens the can in the middle of the top seam. No sharp edges anywhere! Easy to use. Very well designed. Comfortable on the hands, easy on the wrist. I've only had to use the well designed (and almost hidden)"safety opener" once to open a difficult can. It worked like a dream

I used these as "stocking stuffers" last Christmas. Everyone loves these!

A terrific side benefit, is that if you only use part of the contents of the can, you can re-seal it. The way the can is opened actually turns the lid into a great sealing top. Seals up tight, and is obviously very sanitary!

Great for pet food, or any canned goods where you use less than the full can. And, you always know what is in the can.

I've had mine 18 months, and it still works like new. Extra benefit - the mechanism does not touch the food - so it stays very clean!

I'm ordering more tonight. After a cooking party, several guests asked how to find one!

I really like this can opener. Saves a trip to the emergency room! I needed stitches after cutting my finger on a can lid using a traditional opener so went shopping for a "safety can opener" and bought this one. Took just a minute to learn the technique for using it - very easy. Just follow the included directions & keep them in case you forget. It has little jaws that pry off the lid/no sharp edges - magic! I never thought I'd be excited about a can opener but this one not only looks good but works great.

I saw this gadget in O magazine and "for kicks" priced it. as Always, got the best deal at amazon. Iy is a great opener

I ordered this can opener and at the same time I ordered the "Oxo Good Grips Smooth Edge Can Opener" - did this to compare items side-by-side. The Kuhn Rikon took some learning - after we figured it out it does, indeed, take the lid off a can very neatly just as promised. The angle of the knob is not nearly as comfortable or as easy to operate as the Oxo model. I returned the Kuhn Rikon and kept the Oxo.

This is the second one of these we've bought. Actually, the first was a gift and we loved it so much we decided to get another one for our trailer for camping. If you're used to the old-fashioned type which leave the sharp edge, it may take a can or two to get used to this. It works great and is smooth every time. We have both the black and the red. The red color is great for finding it quick in a drawer full of other tools. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a better can opener.

I love this can opener. I had a different "safety" can opener so I was familiar with the initially awkward position it needs to be in. This one is very comfortable. The red is a rusty red color. It is not a bright red at all. I just got this opener a few weeks ago, so I don't know it's long-term productivity. The other brand I owned (OXO) lasted about 4 years before it wore out--it just got dull and I needed to do about 5 or 6 revolutions for it to open the can.

This can opener is hard to use. The first time I used it I was not impressed with the opener. I would not recommend this opener.

Good quality for the price. My wife still wants an electric, but I'd rather use this. Also have a Zyliss that works about the same. The lid lifer on the KR is handy for some cans.
