There is nothing to dislike about this peeler.

SAFETY
Kuhn Rikon had safety in mind when they used this silicone(-like) material to envelope the handle, which makes for a non-slippery grip. It's very comfortable to hold as well.

DESIGN
The design is very pretty with the bright color option (yellow or red); I don't have to look closely in my drawer to find it. No more looking among a drawer full of metal-finished utensils.

FINALLY, PERFORMANCE
I haven't tested Kuhn Rikon's claim on the packaging that it can peel a tomato, but for everything else, it works for me. It starts peeling right where you "nail" it on the vegetable/fruit with its serrated cutting edge. No more running down a root vegetable with several attempts before any of its skin is grabbed for stripping. Love it!

My husband loves this peeler, and says that it peels better than any he has used. The real test was tomatoes, and it peeled only skin(he's alot better at peeling tomatoes than I am). The grip is really good; even if you get juices from tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. on your hands, you can still grip it with ease.

I bought one for my work place (restaurant) five years ago. It's been used daily on cases and cases of carrots and potatoes. It's been abused by the cooks and runned through our industrial dishwasher thousands of times. To this day it's sharp enough to peel the skin off a pumpkin and still peels faster then brand new peelers. No need to sharpen. The serrated ridges it leaves are helpfull when peeling potatoes with wet hands. My boss wants one and so do all the other cooks. I'm glad to see amazon carries it. Can't find it here on the islands anymore.

The weirdness comes in with the serrated edge on the peeler--everything looks like corduroy. But it's attractive once you get used to it. Fast, efficient, good product. And I won't lose it amongst the brown potato peelings--we'll see what happens with the carrots. Har.

This the best vegetable peeler bar none for the following reasons: first, the blade is sharp and serrated (see my added photo) which assures that the peel is initiated every time and that the blade maintains its cut without skips. The blade swivels for irregular vegetables like potatoes and still never skips. The handle is more comfortable and makes it easy to manipulate the peeler over the vegetable's surface. The double edge makes it ideal for both left- and right-handed people. AND, it makes little grooves over the surface of the vegetable so that they are not slippery even when peeling under running water . . . and a good grip for children eating peeled carrots . . . always a plus! The tip opposite the handle is a gouge for the removal of the "eyes" of potatoes (see my added photo).

This is an incredibly well designed vegetable peeler. I usually dread peeling potatoes because I grew up in an Irish/American household where we had potatoes with literally every meal and I was often the one peeling them...for a large family at that. So, if someone had told me there was a normal, non-electrical potato peeler that would make me enjoy, even look forward to peeling...I would not have believed them in a million years. Still, this one is so great I bought extras to give as presents and everyone I gave them to, raved about them later. A+

i had a no name japanese peeler and this peeled at the same ease as my previous one. As with all peelers, I had to apply a even pressure on the handle. The rubbery plastic handle was easy to use and grip. I wish there was a segment at the end of the peeler to dig out core ends. This one didn't have it so I always had to use a small paring knife. The peeler is sharply serrated, so after peeling the fruit/vegetable it doesn't look smooth or clean. Instead the serrated lines are very visible on the fruits and vegetables. If you are peeling vegetables or fruits for presentations and want a smooth finish, this is not the peeler for you.

This peeler is a pretty color, I'll give it that, but I've been rather disappointed with the serrated blade on it. It is hard to wash with the serrated section and catches on my washcloths and it also leaves a pattern/lines on potatoes due to being serrated. Of course, that doesn't really matter as the potatoes will be boiled, mashed, eaten in the end.

I'd buy this peeler again if it is offered with a smooth blade on it. That serrated blade is just too easy to catch and pull on washcloths and towels when cleaning or drying. It does peel well though.
