Five stars,
This review is from: Kui Dong: Pangu's Song (Audio CD)
As an Asian myth and legend fan, I like all stories about Pangu, the
giant who separates heaven from earth to create the universe. The title of this CD has caught my interest immediately. To be honest, at first it was not the music that I had expected to hear. But after the initial surprise, I found myself intrigued by what I heard. And I listened to it the third time today. The superb sense of color, interesting patterns of rhythms and its remarkable imagination appear throughout the whole disc. I also liked about the fact that this composer does not only limit herself to create "Chinese" music, but also embraces other styles such as jazz, pop and avant-garde all together. In short, this is not an easy listening CD; it is worth of repeated listening and my money! I highly recommend to anyone who is an adventurous listener. Five stars!!
