Let me get the one flaw of this little machine out of the way, the same one others have identified: it is difficult to see the max fill line for hot foam. The solution is fairly simply; simply pour in just enough to cover the top of the frothed whisk mounting post, and never worry about squinting in early morning kitchen light again. Because the mounting post is black, it is very easy to see when you are about to fully submerge it in milk. If you want more liquid than foam, the latté line is easier to see. I have had other milk frothers, and all have been decent. This is the first one I can say is actually excellent at what it purports to do. Small, elegant-looking on your countertop, very easy to clean, fast working, kid-friendly, push-and-walk-away, and almost dead silent, it is a joy to use compared to every other frother I have owned. Generally speaking, I like to steam my own milk. I have a Kees van der Westen Speedster espresso machine in my kitchen, and it is a true steam beast [unlike most home espresso machines]. It's so good, that it is a ritualistic pleasure in the morning to steam. And for latté microfoam, it cannot be beat, even by the Kuissential. But late at night, or early on the weekend, and for complete 10-out-of-10 times reliable cappuccino foam, the Kuissential is the winner.

A couple of caveats: it will foam any kind of cow milk, including skim, extremely well. It also works well with Blue Diamond almond milk, both sweetened and flavored. The chocolate makes a great hot chocolate for the kids. But Califioa Farms almond milk is a complete bust in the Kuissential. I liked the Kuissential so much, I ordered a second one for my girlfriend's kitchen, and I tested the Califia Farms in both locations. Blue Almond, fine. Califia, no go. Also, make sure to use a non-scouring sponge for cleaning the non-stick surface. The right sponge cleans the milk skin off easily, but you don't want to scratch the non-stick surface.

This frother is great!

If I could give it 4.75 stars I would, the only reason for not being a perfect 5 would be the amount of milk that can be steamed. It is a rather small amount of milk that can be steamed at one time. I'm sure there is probably a perfectly good reason as to why the amount is what it is, but if you are hoping to make more than 8oz or so, you're out of luck.

Other than that, it works great and is a breeze to clean. I'm very happy with this product, and I hope it continues to work well in the future.

***EDIT 11/28/13***

So I have had the frother not quite a month, and used it about 15 times. Today we tried to froth some milk, and the unit will not power on. We tried several outlets but no go.

We only have 1 day left for a return from Amazon, so I did not contact the company directly. I am sure they would have taken care of it if I had, but I would just rather return the unit and get my money back. :(

***EDIT 04/03/14***

So I contacted Customer Support after receiving a comment from them regarding my review. They stated they really wanted a chance to make up for the faulty product I received. I, of course, said YES! Anyway... Andy from Kuissential contacted me and told me he would like me to try out the frother again after some adjustments were made. He stated the product was going under some rigorous review and re-design, and offered to send me another product when everything was finished.

Fast forward to the middle of March when I received my new frother.

It appears to be working well in the 2 weeks I have been using it. The reason for only 4 stars, is there is still a couple of things that are a minor inconvenience to me.

The frother is EXACTLY what we wanted, and I've tried every steamer, frother, and other gadget on the market. Great for almond, soy, cow, whatever you put in it. Quick, easy to clean, not one shortcoming.

Nice (industrial) design marred by a couple of significant design flaws. First, the milk reservoir is too shallow. Don't be fooled by the tall appearance of this frother, only the top third or so holds milk! This leads to rapid overflows and a mess, even when the quantity of milk is well below the marked "max" line. The only solution is to froth your milk in two batches if you're making a reasonable-sized cafe latté - perhaps for a cappuccino, this wouldn't be a problem since you just like a little foam on top, but we like big mugs of latté in the morning and this unit simply doesn't have the capacity to froth very much milk when compared to the Capresso.

The second flaw is that the instructions state that the unit can't be gotten wet, even though it detaches from the electrical base. This makes cleaning all that spilled milk foam off the sides somewhat difficult!

The third flaw is that the agitator assembly does not come completely free from the heating surface (leaving a "nub" behind) which makes it harder to clean around. Again, this is in stark contrast to the Capresso frother which allows the agitator to be entirely separated from the unit and lets you scrub the flat heating surface completely free of milk easily. This unit has the motor as part of the assembly, whereas in the Capresso it's in the base and the agitator is simply magnetically coupled, which is a much more intelligent design as far as cleaning is concerned.
