I found the book ordinary, nothing new, the pics were ok, not dazzling, in all, nothing new or inspiring, however for the beginner, it may rock their world

This book is meant to introduce the reader to the ancient yogic tradition of Kundalini. It details what the historic tantric scriptures describe and has many illustrations of historic drawings. The concept of Kudalini - awakening body/mind chakras - is described from a Eastern perspective. This also describes experiences of Kundalini by some of the known swamis (holy people).

Please note that this is not a Kundalini awakening instruction book. It is more a scholarly work on describing traditional Kundalini.

If you like to know about traditional concepts of Kundalini, this book will give you a good introduction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Internal Powers of the Universe, December 26, 2011
This review is from: Kundalini: The Arousal of the Inner Energy (Paperback)
Great read. It shows the swastika being used by dark skinned people before the devil I meant Hitler started using it. The swastika was drawn on the foot of Vishnu and the original statues of Vishnu depict him with African features although the drawing of him in this book is white it clearly shows the amalgamation or the racism that took place in Asia. This books explains the internal vital functions that connects us to the spiritual or metaphysical realms of our true nature. Health Wealth Knowledge of Self.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, February 25, 2011

I wouldn't have any hesitation telling someone to start here, if they were after usable detail on kundalini experience, theory and history. Mookerjee does a great job of summing up the tantric traditions and their ideas, collecting numerous very interesting pictures (mostly 18th and and 19th century) which illustrate the kundalini yoga approach. He details the experiential point of view, both from the likes of Ramakrishna and modern westerners in the stable of Lee Sannella. Chakra symbology is discussed in detail, from traditional and Jungian perspectives. There's probably a bit too much of the Esalen influence, which results in a slight over-emphasis on 'left hand path' stuff, but overall, this is a very valuable introduction.

This book has been an essential learning tool recommended to my classes in Energy Medicine as I teach Reiki Energy Medicine. It steeps one in the simplest manner with a proper overview of the Energy Field of a living being in what can be quite the most poignant albeit ancient conception. This is the way this material has been taught for thousands of years. And no wonder! It really works.

I haven't read this book, but came across this reference in a book by Roland Drolet I am translating into English. "Another example of a word which needs to be demystified is Kundalini, which is nothing other than the sexual energy, that is the mass nuclear energy (E-mc2) liberated during sexual relations. For more details and depth on the Kundalini, see the two excellent works: "Kundalini: The arousal of the inner energy" by A. Mookerjee and "The Tao of Sexology" by Dr. S. T. Chan."
