5.0 out of 5 stars What it Is About, December 2, 2002
By
ganga karmokar (Seattle Wa or Rishikesh India) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kundalini from Hell to Heaven (Spiral-bound)
Namaste Dear One -

i am the author of the book and it is a bit different in that it is not a book that shows how to start the kundalini and activate it, but rather what to do once you are in the midst of an awakening... it also shows health professionals what to look for in diagnosing kundalini versus any of the other numerous catagories and labels that get acquired... this book does not show chakras and pathways but tells how kundalini works with consciousness and how to navigate the experience successfully... it is ALSO great for others that are one the path to Liberation in this lifetime by means of Self Enquiry...

Love to All who find this book... shanti shant Maha Shanti OM...g.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for Anyone who Meditates or has Kundalini Rising, June 10, 2009
By
Lonnie Martin (Amarillo, Texas) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Namaste, readers. (Peace)

The other five star reviewers say it very well. I have just finished buying and reading this book this June, 2009. I can only add that this is the most important book I have read in the last 30 years because I find myself in the midst of major Kundalini symtoms right now.

I have been meditating since the early 1970's. No yoga or exercises. Just meditating. In those days not much was written and understood about Kundalini. I am blessed to have found this book and its author Ganga Karmokar, also known as Swami-G at this point in my life. I did not know 99 per cent of this book, but without a doubt she knows. Many of the things she has written have happened to me since. Kundalini keeps expressing itself (sometimes daily) over a long period of time.

Kundalini experiences can be very frightening to the experiencer who has little or no prior knowledge of the subject because the unknown scares. With the help of this book I can now understand more of what is happening to me and where I am going. I know I will re-read this book many times. It is one of the few books I would want on a deserted island with me. Yes, it is truly that important to me.

This book also explains what a guru is and the importance of finding one who has completed the whole journey as there are so many trappings of the ego with the journey.

I am also thankful the book has a dictionary at the end as I am a Westerner, a Texan, in fact. There are a few Eastern words that I had to look up several times but the book is for All. The Eastern words used are commonly used in other books. The book is very easy to read and very concise. No extraneous verbosity here. No life story of the author, etc. She gets right down to business and stays on the subject matter!

To some it may seem that I am going overboard with this review but it is a lifesaver for me. This book is priceless to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kali's Review, January 1, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Kundalini from Hell to Heaven (Spiral-bound)
Ganga Karmokar's book From Hell to Heaven is an invaluable book for anyone on a spirtual path, but without doubt a crucial read and continual guide for one actually going through a Kundalini Awakening.

I am in the midst of an Awakening and have kept the book at my side continually. It has become my working manual, one in which I can make notes and continue to reread as the process unfolds.
Everytime I reread passages I find that I come to a deeper and even richer understanding of this sacred path. It is a book that has a positive and energetic life flow to it, and seems to be able to address the question or need of the moment.

The book comprehensively describes what the process is, and the tools and directions for forward movement and balance through the process. It also has Question and Answer sections with Ganga answering myriads of relevant questions that have answered many of my own questions along the way.

I have the great fortune of knowing Ganga personally and being her student. She enabled me to understand what was happening to me, and was tireless in her guidance and continues to be as well as her book. She is totally dedicated to helping others through this process as well as on other spiritual paths. It is important for one to have the steering guidance of one who has successfully forged through this amazing and difficult process to Self-Realization such as Ganga Karmokar has!

Hopefully, this book will be widely read and used not only by those seeking spiritual guidance and growth, but also by Health Care professionals of which I am one,(psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, and general practicioners, etc.)who are called upon as helpers by individuals going through Spiritual Transformation. In many cases, these clients can be in spiritual crisis, and this book is a Life-Saver. From Hell to Heaven is a ground-breaking and vitally important book, offering vast experiential knowledge and guidance, love, and sacred motivation to anyone seeking spiritual growth, but especially to those in the process of an Awakening and to those who are assisting them through it. Thank you Ganga!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Janie's Review, December 15, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Kundalini from Hell to Heaven (Spiral-bound)
Many authors write about the Kundalini experience only, how to awaken it through yoga etc. Some of these books are frightening, offer no direction and lead to further confusion. Ganga's book not only explains the Kundalini process, but gives tools and direction on how to proceed. When one is lost in the Kundalini experience, clear direction from one who has sucessfully navigated out of this process is crucial. Ganga is this one.

Most health professionals (though many are well intentioned) have no understaning of the kundalini process, even though some claim they do. The remedies they offer can create further confusion, fear and dependency. Ganga's book lists clear kundalini symptomotology. It his her hope that all individuals with a kundalini awakening will receive the right guideance. All that I write about I know from my own experience. I had a kundalini awakening years ago and believe me in the midst of this I was desperate for answers that I was unable to find until, to my good fortune, I met Ganga. All that she has laid out in the book she has told me personally and more, and the benefit is beyond description. If I could give this book more than five stars, I would.

It is my hope that this book begins to circulate in the public and professional sphere. It is a highly useful book which I can't say about any other I've read. It is encouraging, supportive and not frightening at all. If one is truly serious about completeing the kundalini process this book offers answers and the rest is up to the individual. It is a must read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kundalini from Hell to Heaven, July 28, 2003

This review is from: Kundalini from Hell to Heaven (Spiral-bound)
"With personal accounts (including the Author's own), many questions and answers, information concerning the 7 realms of conciousness (chakras), valuable tools and how to use them, i found this book full of pearls-no occultism, no esotericism or complex and unusable information here. In my opinion, a complex process needs straight-forward explanations. A confusing and often fearful experience yearns for grounding guidance-and that's what i found in this book. The explanations are based on the expert knowledge of one who has traversed the path to its full length and now wants to help others in finding their way home".

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute MUST for one with an awakened kundalini, January 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this book after coming across website of Ganga Karmokar ( a.k.a Guru Swami-G ). It was a mandatory reading to be her student. And I am glad I bought the book .

The book clearly explains the different symptoms of an awakened Kundalini. It shares different practices which will bring immediate balance to one with an awakened kundalini. It also has many revealing questions and answers which brings in more clarity to one seeking the truth. My favorite poem in the book is "Contemplation of Self". Reading it itself expand's one's consciousness. It also shares the kundalini journeys of many other students. All in all, the book is filled with wisdom that will help anyone with an awakened Kundalini.

I would 100 % recommend anyone to buy this book because of all the above.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, September 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
SO down to earth, so understandable, this unique journey from the "ancient mind" of man into the "new" mind destined for all of us! I couldn't put this book down and have underlined all over it. I found myself wishing that I were spiritually sensitive and advanced enough to call her, for her wisdom. If you are on a spiritual path which includes digesting and integrating your entire human experience, and then experiencing its transcendance after your kundalini "decides" to rise permanently, get this book. The journey sounds like Christ's words, "I have overcome the world," to tell you the truth. It happens when the lens through which you see life, physiologically and spiritually moves out of what you think of as your normal "mind" and takes up residence in the totally conscious, aware background underlying all of our existence: this is who we are before we came to earth, this eternal consciousness. We come home, and merge with who we deep-down KNOW ourselves to be. This consciousness includes love, peace, the stillness-holding-all-potential, etc., and through our new lens, we now perceive our mind as our handy tool to use whenever we want, but no longer are we at its mercy. We still grow in understanding of life and ourselves after the shift, but the paradigm in which we live is transformed forever. Whew! I can't wait! But will it happen in this lifetime? For some, it has, and these folks are out there trying to encourage us to "go for the gold." Personally, I think regular "Oneness Deeksha" speeds up the progress toward the shift. It definitely, gradually stops the self-critical thoughts we all have, and life feels more abundant and peaceful. They're given free, most places. Sounds like I'm hawking, but I want you to be happy and move as fast as you can, too! We're all in this together! The book is wonderful.
