Book Description

December 1988
Here Ravi Singh has created a practical guide book that gives you the technology and impetus to break the trance-like treatmill that living with minimum energy induces. This 'how-to' book gives you the energy you need to fill your life with strength, success, and spirit.

These workouts are an invitation to life. This is not a collection of techniques which counsel you to withdraw from life, or limit your activity to reduce stress. It says, 'Here is the means to tap the inner energy which rests dormant in your nervous and glandular systems.' With that energy, which is called 'Kundalini', every challenge becomes an opportunity, every experience a resource, and every moment of life a creative endeavor.

The Kundalini Yoga Ravi Singh presents is not theoretical. It's a pragmatic daily practice which leads to the victory of your identity over the pressures of life and the impulses of your emotions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Introduction to Yoga, October 20, 2000

This review is from: Kundalini Yoga for Body, Mind, and Beyond (Plastic Comb)
This is one of the best books I've encountered for the philosophy of yoga, its mental and physical benefits, as well as a solid plan for starting yoga.

Singh does a great job presenting the fundamentals so that beginners and experts can benefit.

I'm very happy with this book and recommend it often. It has made a positive difference in my life and others.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent, February 21, 2009
This review is from: Kundalini Yoga for Body, Mind, and Beyond (Plastic Comb)
This has been one of the finest books that I've encountered on the topic. While the book provides a nice background on the philosophy of yoga, it provides considerable detail on the actual practice of yoga. As someone who has to contend with multiple sclerosis, I find that the practice of yoga (and water aerobics) has helped me with my movement immensely. I'd give this book a solid A - reserved for the very finest of books. Well written, engaging to the amateur and those of moderate background.

If you've discovered Kundalini yoga this is the book for you! There are some poses, some sets, some philosophy - a bit of everything written in an encouraging engaging style. You can tell from the photo on the cover this book must be circa 1970's. Don't dismay, yoga is an ancient art. The information in the book is still valid. Also, the pictures on the inside are line drawings.
