5.0 out of 5 stars Will this Band be the Next band of the Decade?.......
To keep this a secret any longer would be impossible. Hog Molly may just be the band that proves that hard, heavy metal rock, is detremental to your health. That is when they find the heards of people sitting by their stereos, with their heads split open. They will have been issued their death certificate. The cause of death? Kung-Fu Cocktail Grip, Hog Molly style. Hog...

Hog Molly, which features frontman Tad Doyle, cannot be compaired to his former band Tad. They wouldn't stand half a chance. That's what makes me really excited about this record. To bring something, "Heavy", to the table is one thing, but to brutalize it like Hog Molly does, is another. From the screaching yells to the solid, almost disiplined chanting of lyrics, Tad and Hog Molly make sure you are in the,"grip". The Music featues a rhythm from heavy to fast, to rocking your brains out, to a slow....chug.....chug.....that will lull you into the abyss, and never to return to the real world. Mesmerizing. The best thing about Hog Molly is though, even though their the best of musicians anywhere, and their music is deffiniately on the progressive side, is that whenever you hear a song on their CD, you can bet they'll play it better live! And that is what is best about these Sumo Wrestling Stars, They have the Best live show in town.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kung-Fu Cocktail Grip is heavy, drivin' rock n'roll, June 12, 2001

If you were a fan of Tad, you should pick up the Hog Molly CD. This CD has that dirty, raw rock n' roll sound that I love, it's almost like being at a live show. The lyrics of each song tell their own individual stories. It's amazing that the brutal sonic assaults of Tad's vocals are completely audible. If you like relentless, heavy guitar tones this should make you smile. They remind me of bands like Helmet and Clutch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Band: HOG MOLLY-- K ung Fu Cocktail Grip CD, May 20, 2001

First off, The live show of these 4 Hessians is going to become legendary if it isn't already. That being said, this disc ROCKS with a capital Rrrrr! Tad Doyle and company have written and performed 15 songs of full-throttle Punk-Rock-Metal fury. Everything that is right about the afore mentioned genres is rolled in to one fatty of a cigar that would choke the tobacco industry on pure volume alone. First out of the gate is "Mr. Right". The bass sounds like a bulldozer with a personal problem, powerful, heavy, and oh so delicious. Doyle rants about what his father taught him and how we all have to get ready for revolution. I have no idea what revolution he is singing about but when Mr. Doyle sings something like this with as much conviction as only he can, we had best do as he says. Slimmy D Diabolis' drumming is stellar and or it will make you see stars. Martinus (the lead guitar guy) blasts out the leads that makes guys who say they play guitar cower in the shadows. As well they should. Ty Satan has the bass sound that has the atomic weight of the most dense element ever found and crushes like the weight of 60 M-1 tanks on a single saltine cracker. Get the picture? There are 14 more songs of diversion on this disc, all of them quality Hard Action Rock. If you are ever afforded the luxury of seeing this band live, go! I could go on and on. Bottom line, if you like Metal, and or Rock and Roll, and or Punk, you won't be disappointed. Buy, beg, or steal this cd.

I can't believe how much this rocks! TAD is the man! Serious beefy riffing and unbridled rock fury that's going to kick your booty from here to Albuquerque! It gets no better and no heavier than this CD, so what the heck are you waiting for, partner? Buy it now!!!!

Hog Molly deliver the goods. Kung Fu Cocktail Grip will remind you why you like your music loud, fast & heavy. Tad, Slimmy, Marty & Tyson have got the formula for dynamite live shows & seeing the band play songs from this album is worth your time. You're lame if you don't get this record.

Any fan of Tad should avoid this like the plague, unless you found Tad's riffs and lyrics too complicated. Sloppy songwriting, simplistic, just plain unfunny and a major let down. There are lots of CD's out there by a lot of bands. If you want to explore some interesting heavy music try The Last Drop, Boy Hits Car, Dern Rutlidge or Christbait. Try anything but this. I paid $2 for this, and the quality was reflected in the price. Not sure who had all the talent in TAD, but I'm pretty sure now who didn't.

1.0 out of 5 stars A bit heavy minus tunes equals absolutely nothing, October 22, 2001

I must be missing something, right? I bought this on the basis of all the fabulous recommendations noted previously but I'm shocked to find this as one of the most boring, leaden pieces of garbage is some time. Song after hideous song, the whole thing drags on with not one memorable riff anywhere. And no, it doesn't rock, mate, and not at any volume. The recording also leaves a lot to be desired. The guitars just sound flat and lifeless. So, it sounds like Tad? Good, glad I missed them also. Believe me, don't waste your money on this one.
