Story
Toby and his drop-dead gorgeous assistant Karin run a detective agency, but when the mob inexplicably comes calling they become the hunted and have no choice but to hightail it out of trouble on the only means of transportation available, their office chairs. Catapult through the wild, untamed city streets of their megalopolis as you use the PlayStation Move motion controller and PlayStation Eye camera combination to slingshot forward, smash through crowds of pedestrians, lock in air defying combo chains and karate chop your way to safety. Experience the heart pounding rush as you control the duo on a crazy getaway from the mob. Ride your way to safety, grasping onto your PlayStation Move motion controller to stay in control as you steer, jump, dash at breakneck speeds.

Gameplay
Kung Fu Rider utilizes the PlayStation Move motion controller and PlayStation Eye camera peripheral combination (both sold separately)* to place players in the hotseat as they take on the role of the office chair dependent Toby or Karin. Gestures made with the Move motion controller are translated by the PlayStation Eye into everything from kung fu attacks used as defense against pursuing mobsters, to jumps and speed bursts needed to outrun them or maneuver and grind through the more than 20 game levels included in the game. The game contains a two-player co-op mode, and along the way players will discover secrets hidden within the city, as well build up online ranking and wrack up trophies.

PlayStation Move Motion Controller and PlayStation Eye
Equipped with a three axis gyroscope, a three axis accelerometer and terrestrial magnetic field sensor, the PlayStation Move motion controller tracks the precise movements and the angle of the controller, while the PlayStation Eye camera, aimed at the player, allows the PS3 system to detect the absolute position of the controller in 3D space. Together this facilitates the highly sensitive movement tracking and intuitive gameplay that gives the impression that the player is physically within the game. The PlayStation Move motion controller also features the familiar PlayStation controller button orientation, for seamless play from the very first use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, not silly November 24, 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Contrary to other reviewer's comment, I find the game pretty awesome (most probably because of the Hong Kong street scenes that feel 200% home). It takes a bit of a learning curve to master the moves, but they are never non-responsive. There is also a lot of replaying value as the "routes" can be very different every time, if you choose to do it the non-conventional way.

Consider it like a more grown up version of locoroco, that's what this game is about. Not for the serious serious gamer, but completely lovely if you want to get wacky surprises on the rolling lane - very true-to-life depiction of Hong Kong too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Has a much worse rep. then the game deserves December 20, 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
It has been floating around that this is one of the worst games ever for the PS3. Making it easily the worst Move game ever. But in reality it is a pretty awesome game. First off this game IS gimmicky by all means could of been done on the normal controller even most of the "move" movements. But thats the point of the move right? Just a different way to play. This game is truly just zanny and fun. It like an old arcade game in spirit mixed with Crazy Taxi or Jet Set Radio. No story line (but who needs one) just racing down hill away from the mob... on anything and everything with wheels. The game may just be to hard to be casual and to casual to please those who are considered the "hardcore" gamer. People seem to be all relating that back to the controls themselves. You can go to the options menu and adjust when your character jumps and boosts. After I did that I had no problems it just all became about vigilance and reflexes.

So who should buy this game? Anyone who loves the classic going for a high score game and likes a good challenge. Also who can find it for like 25 bucks or lower because this SHOULD of been a PSN title. The Trophy support and all the content point to that. 40 dollars is honestly to much. It seems they even gave you all the launch Move demos on disc with it to try and ease the pain of the price tag. I think this was just another game to BULK up the releases on the day Move launched. Just like Eye Pet where the normal game was just going to use a pad the game came with and the controller but now in the U.S. its a Move title.

In the end I give this game such a high score to curb the bad reviews its getting. Its still a great game and I have no regrets buying it. But I DID NOT and WOULD NOT pay 40 for it. There should be normal controller support (could be patched) and it should of just been a PSN title and/or just been cheaper in the first place(shop around).

4.0 out of 5 stars Flawed, Short, but What a Time September 21, 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
As the first game I've acquired since buying a MOVE I have to say I'm pretty pleased. If you go into this game expecting it to be a simple, arcade game in line with Crazy Taxi mixed with a bit of a beat-em-up, then you won't be disappointed. It's pretty fun and while the medal searching free missions are a bit noggin scratching at times it's still a good time waster if you can find it for under $10. One last note, it only has 12 trophies as it originally was to be a PSN game so if not being able to Platinum a retail title bothers you that much word of warning; for all the rest that just want to have fun then get it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, if silly, game October 3, 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I did run out and buy a PS3 Move wand and a game when it was first released. I debated whether or not to buy the Sports game for PS3 Move, but I already have Wii Sports and Sports Resort. So I decided to take a chance on Kung Fu Rider. I knew it was silly when I bought it, I mean... come on, racing on an office chair? I guess that mindless aspect of the game appealed to me. It's a fun game that incorporates a little of many other types of games. The graphics are Wii-like and it does seem a little like a demo to show what's possible with the Move wand (which is awesome!!!). Unfortunately, when the game wasn't as responsive to the Move wand as it should be, I figured it was just my inexperience. However, after gaining experience and reading other reviews, I've learned that sometimes the game inaccurately responds to movement of the wand, or doesn't respond at all, or responds when it shouldn't. That's disappointing. In hindsight, I wouldn't pay full price for it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Silly, but tons of FUN! June 11, 2011

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This is one of those games that you just can't put down once you get the hang of it (it does has it's learning curve). Once you do get it the game becomes adictive, at least for me it has been a lot of fun, it is a short game and would never pay more than $25 for it (I actually got it at $8) so if you like games like Tony Hawk (the older ones), Crazy Taxi, SSX and Pain you might as well enjoy this gimmicky guilty pleasure.

Do not believe the "so called" professional reviewers, they just give bad scores to games that they suck at! I stopped trusting them after I gave a try to "The Fight: Lights Out" and found it to be one AWESOME game with true 1:1 precision!, so give it a try, the controls DO work flawlessly once you get the hang of it, the graphics are cool and colorful, the game itself is hilarious and you can play music from your HDD which is always a nice feature! :D

Pretty fun Move game if you can get it cheap. It's good for some laughs but also has fun gameplay. Think a bit of the old school Tony Hawk games set in Japan.
