Why don't more people know of Kuniyoshi? His prints are action packed, dynamic and engaging. And this rendition of the 47 Ronin is a fantastic collection of some of his most engaging works. Hotei has put out other wonderful collections of Kuniyoshi's work, but this is the one I keep returning to again and again for inspiration. A must own for any Kuniyoshi fan, and very important for anyone interested in Japanese prints.

This is a wonderful book, written by a lover of Kuniyoshi's art. Mr. Weinberg's work is intelligent and the reproductions are excellent. The author explains the layout of a woodblock print and gives a clear, concise and beautifully written description of each of the 47 Ronin. His love of the art he describes is palpable. I read this book from cover to cover, something I rarely do with an art book. I was enthralled.
