OMG! It's December already, my two-year-old grandson is coming to visit and I DON'T HAVE A TREE! (Well.. I do, but it's only a foot high, and it's a fiber-optic which he will love - to tear apart. And that I love - so I can't let him near it.)

Enter the tree-finding phase.

As it takes about three weeks for stuff to get to me here in the middle of nowhere, "ships by December 24" just did not work for me. So it was a tad frustrating working through the myriad trees on offer on Amazon that would not be delivered until the next year.

However, this little cutie, priced right, delivers promptly, mostly good reviews, caught my eye and emptied my wallet. Even better, it WAS delivered promptly and I was thrilled.

Until I opened the box. Two sad little sticks with frosted fluff finish and a little brushed metal base. Seriously? Well, nothing to do but go for it as Junior was scheduled to arrive the next day, so I opened it up and started to put it all together - unbending each little "branch" and arranging them in little circles.

And was thrilled again!

Yes, as one reviewer put it, it did leave little metallic strands all over the place. That does not detract from how gorgeous it is when you're done. (Memo to me, post photo!) It really did finish as a beautiful tree and The Brat was awed. For a while anyway, at which point he reverted to normal and proceeded to remove the decorations he could reach.

I bought a lot of cheap, plastic-wrapped-in-shiny-colored-thread balls and put one on every branch. I threaded lights and topped it with an angel. The white branches showed off the colored balls and the lights made it all seem fairy-like and magical.

Mark's idea of getting a black one for Halloween is excellent, and I shall.

For the price and the purpose, I loved it!

Was looking for a black tree to use in next years Halloween display, and this one is perfect. It is "creepy" in appearance, which is perfect for the effect i want to achieve!!! Great buy!!!
