My husband makes fun of me because of my nursing pillow collection. To date, I own one Boppy, one My Brest Friend, two E-Z 2 Nurse Twins (one for each floor of my house) and now two Kushies Nursing Pillows. I will give you my brief evaluation of each pillow in brief summary.

Boppy- Not a great nursing pillow. Doesn't stay on and surface is curved, so baby tends to roll. Best relegated to "sitting practice" for your baby.

My Brest Friend- Great pillow. Comfortable, mostly flat surface so baby doesn't roll off, nice little raised bump lifts baby's head. This is my "go-to" pillow when nursing a newborn. The pillow clips around you and will stay on as you walk around, making you look like a baseball vendor: "PEANUTS! POPCORN!" (I digress). Once my babies got to be a month or two old, I no longer wanted to fuss with strapping the thing on at every feed. But I still consider it worth it to own this pillow.

E-Z 2 Nurse Twins- Who are we kidding with the name of this pillow? Ain't no pillow in the world can make it easy to sustain the life of two little humans, feeding them simultaneously as they struggle to latch in those early, bleary-eyed days. That said, BUY THIS PILLOW if you have twins. You'll need it, you'll use it. You'll want one on each floor of your home. Take out a loan, they're expensive.

Kushies- I found a never used Kushies at a garage sale and bought it on a whim. I've used it now on all my kids (all 4!). I like that it is thick and keeps them up high. It is flat, so they don't roll off. It fits anybody. It has a nice handle on the side of it, making it easy to cart around even while you've got the baby in your arms.

I tried every nursing pillow out there. I had settled on the "Brest Friend", but found it so difficult to put it on every time with a screaming hungry baby in one hand. Then I went to see a lactation consultant and she showed me this pillow. It is firm, tall (at least 6") and flat across, but curved on the side to facilitate a closer fit. I do wish it had the little head-rest bumps like the Brest Friend, but I've taken to using a blanket for that and that works just fine. Also, as a bonus the cover is adorable and very, very soft!

I love this pillow so much that I own three. One for upstairs, one for downstairs, and one for my car. As a bustier woman, I am simply more comfortable nursing my baby with a pillow. This pillow is firm (unlike the boppy) and will keep baby in proper position without scrunching her at her waist. I have even taken this pillow to disney world as it fits great in the stroller basket. Recommended by the Lactation consultants at my local hospital and I second the endorsement.

My only complaint is that the cover is very snug and not easy to get on and off for washing. After a while (1 or 2 years) it may start to rip.

This nursing pillow positions my daughter in the perfect spot to nurse and I'm actually comfortable nursing. I was introduced to this pillow from the lactation consultant's office from the hospital. I was using the boppy before but it was so awkward and uncomfortable for me to nurse because my arms, wrists, and hands would cramp and/or go numb trying to.support my daughter properly. This pillow is amazing because I don't have that problem. I do use a rolled or folded receiving blanket to help support my daughter's head as I nurse if needed. The pillow is firm and higher than others so its very nice. Love this and would recommend to anyone! A great pillow has helped me become more confident with nursing.

I love this pillow. I used it to nurse my second baby at the recommendation of my Lactation Consultant. I had the Boppy with my first and it didn't work for getting him postioned right until my son got much older and bigger. I was able to use this pillow right away with my second and it made getting him in the right position for a good latch a breeze. I would recommend this pillow for every nursing mom.

I purchased this pillow on the recommendation of a lactation consultant and it has not worked well for me.

Pros:

-Firm, baby doesn't sink
-Cute
-Lightweight

Cons:

-Too lightweight, nothing holds it in place
-Baby rolls towards me

I'm giving it 3 stars because it does seem to be a quality product and is better than just a standard pillow, but, as a nursing pillow, it is just gathering dust in our house. It would probably work for the football/clutch hold, but I don't nurse that way.

I am a board certified lactation consultant in a large pediatric practice. I have used this pillow for years, with hundreds of mothers and babys. It is the best nursing pillow I have found and I have several different kinds. It works for virtually all body types. Most of my patients are newborns to three months. Many mothers ask where they can get this pillow as it is the right height, thickness and size. I do use the boppy pillow behind Mom's back for support. Great for the early months in breastfeeding!
