After reading the reviews about the bags not being very big, I paid attention to how large "large" is... they're not huge, but they hold quite a few diapers in each bag. I carry both bags around with me - one for the diapers if there's nowhere to throw them out right away, and one for dirty food bowls, spoons, etc. (by the way, the person that is talking about one of the bags being tiny must have purchased the other bag pack where you see the "big" bag and then a cute little postage stamp bag in the picture - this set has two "large" bags, as it claims).
The one thing that I was worried about when I got them was that there was just a draw-string closing mechanism. I thought - oh man, this isn't going to keep poopy diapers in and smell from coming out. So, being the geeky scientist that I am, I did the experiment that all of you will not want to do - I put a soiled diaper in the bag, drew it closed and waited. For quite a few days, just to see how smelly it would get. It never got smelly. I was flabbergasted. So, I'm buying a set for Christmas gifts for all the new parents I know. Seriously, these bags are great! And the best part, they're really reasonably priced!

These bags are well constructed from what I can tell. They do an excellent job at keeping odors contained, even for long periods of time. I was skeptical about a drawstring being effective for odor control, but the drawstring works very well with the super flexible material of these bags and seals it shut. I have another bag that zips closed (planetwise brand), and it doesn't measure up to these bags at all. They are totally waterproof (don't get moist around edges) and can hold 3-4 large diapers if you need them too and several newborn diapers (I have a 21 month old and a newborn in cd's). I would highly recommend these bags to anyone who wants to get a few extra bags to have in your car or around your house (if you have more than one in diapers for example). I am VERY pleased with this purchase. Not to mention it is an excellent price!

Not "Large"...,

This review is from: Kushies "On the Go" 2 Pack Wet Bag, Green (Baby Product)
I gave this four stars because I wanted the bags to be bigger. However, when I went back to see if the dimensions were given, they were...so...I guess it's my fault for not getting a ruler out! These bags are described as "Large". As a mom with a mountain range of laundry in the basement...large means laundry bag sized...not a tiny little bag with room for three diapers. This bag is great for keeping in the diaper bag for trips around town. We use cloth diapers and it definitely keeps the odor down and I don't have to worry about soiling everything else in the diaper bag. It's more economical and environmentally friendly than using ziploc freezer bags which is what I used before. However...this is not what I intended to use it for when I bought it! I'm glad to be able to use it though and I think it's a good product. I just think the word Large should be removed from the description. ;) I received two bags of the same size, in the dimensions given in the description, so I did get what I ordered...I'll pay better attention next time!

Utter Failure as a "Wet" Bag - You Get What You Pay For!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kushies "On the Go" 2 Pack Wet Bag, Green (Baby Product)
I purchased this pair of so-called wet bags several months ago to tote our soiled cloth diapers home from when we are out and about in my bag. I was lured in by the economical cost (2 for lower price than 1 for some other brand bags) and lots of good reviews.
In my opinion, they do not contain wet or stink very well. Honestly I've had better luck with using plastic grocery bags over these Kushies' bags! They are made of one layer of what seems to be slightly "water-resistant" material with and have a drawstring closure on the top. I have found that they will leak if anything truly wet is in the bag. I've put a rinsed out cloth diaper in one bag, hung it up in my bathroom, only to find a small puddle underneath it later. Damp, wrung out items do okay, but the way the bag is constructed, moisture from the wet or damp items wicks out of the bag through the Kushies brand tag on the side for sure and possibly through the side seams also. The other issue is that if you carry something smelly in these bags (say a soiled cloth diaper, even just a wet one) it will make whatever it leans against, say like the inside of your purse or diaper bag, smell like what's in the bag. Not cool to take a "wet" bag out of your purse and find a wet spot and stink in its place! To me failing at those things - not containing wetness or smell = failure as a wet bag. Spend a bit more and try a small Planet Wise wet bag (like Planet Wise Diaper Wet Bag - Gypsy Wave Small). I have bought 3 different sized PW ones since this ill-advised purchase, and none of them have yet to fail me through daily use and several washings per week these past few months. The PlanetWise ones have shamed these Kushies in comparison. Sometimes you get what you pay for, as for me I feel as though I got even less than what I expecting with these Kushies bags.

I bought these because they were the cheapest option, and I have been just thrilled with them!!!
They are very lightweight and fold up really tiny, so they barely take up any room in the diaper bag. I can fit about 3 used full-size prefolds per bag, which is usually plenty, though I always carry an extra just in case. They've contained messes and smells just fine. And, they're cute! I throw them in the wash with my diapers, which makes the whole process SO easy. I used to use plastic bags. These wet bags not only save money and are better for the environment, but they are more convenient too. And really, you can't beat the price!! I looked at others that were 3x the price for one, not two. I'm sure the other ones are very nice, but these have been just great! PS - I bought this 2-pack of large bags, as well as the one with 1 large bag and 1 mini bag, which gave me 3 large bags total. The mini bag is cute, but I haven't really found a practical use for it.

Very sturdy, not thin and flimsy like the other one I tried. So far no leaks!

not good as a diaper wet bag,

These bags do not work well to contain wet cloth diapers. They are only one layer of material and the wetness completely leaks through. I have found other uses for them, to hold used bibs, washcloths and swimsuits so it's not a total waste. But for a diaper wet bag, I guess you get what you pay for. Go for the planetwise bag instead.

This item said it was "large" but is quite small. I can fit about 4-6 soiled pocket diapers into the bag if I squish them in there. It is more of a medium size. I was greatly disappointed by the size. Selling them in a 2-pk is nice b/c I have 2 children in diapers. It was a bonus to find a 2-pk for the price I paid.

I bought these and used them for a few months and at first they were great. After washing them with our bumgenius diapers for a while, though, the drawstring started sticking so they are really hard to close. Kushies was good about replacing the first set, but when it happened again, they said that they were basically just too heavily used. I did use them regularly (probably washing them 1-2 times per week with my diapers) but that's why I got them so I thought they should last more than a couple of months. Maybe they couldn't stand up to the double cold and then hot wash of the diapers, but again, the ease of just throwing bags in with diapers is why I got them in the first place. Oh well, I might try to replace the drawstring with something not plastic coated and see if that works.

Hi there,
I loved the smallish size of these wetbags and the colorful design. I have found after using them for awhile now that they don't seem to be holding up very well. The draw strings are really hard to close and the material seems to be disintegrating. I think they would be fine for occasional use or to keep in the diaper bag, but if you are planning on using them everyday, I would think twice. |
