You'll end up in a NECK BRACE from all the head-nod action this album inflicts upon you. Worth every penny.

A good friend of mine spent a year abroad in Israel prior to beginning rabbinical school. He came back and told me about this dude in Tel Aviv who plays a bunch of instruments and makes ridiculously funky music. I thought he was kidding until he played this record for me. All I can say is that it's absurdly funky and incredibly well written. You can hear all his influences, from James Brown and Sly Stone to Fela Kuti and Miles Davis, but the music here is much more than the sum of its influences. As a musician myself, I know how hard it is to make music that is innovative and has substance, but is also danceable and accessible. That's what Kutiman has done here. Play it in your car or at a party, and you'll find yourself bobbing your head without even knowing it. Try to play it yourself, and you'll quickly discover how much depth it has.
Five stars - highly recommended, and well worth the nine bucks it costs to download here.

This is the kind of music you expect to be just really great background music, but then, upon closer listening, realize that there is some genuine thought and brilliance in the interweaving of instruments and melodies, styles and genres. The songs are incredibly dynamic as they organically evolve with each additional riff or melody and become a beautiful living creature as you pay more and more attention. No sound or silence is unnecessary here, every layer of music has a designed purpose and integrates into the overall song convincing the listener that Kutiman must have envisioned and heard the entire song before he wrote it.
This music is great, and I recommend it to anyone interested or intrigued by electronic, funk, hip hop, or just gripping rhythms!

Kutiman's Afro-psychedelic-funk is sick.,

I am biased because this type of music combines several genera that I like, but it is done skillfully and with soul. It will definitely become one of my most played albums. I recommend it highly, if you like funk combined with a afro-beat/electronic sound. Very original.
