Fascinating read!
I really enjoyed the history section, in particular the North American history. It was well written and interresting to read about. I would have liked to see more in the breed standards, especially drawings of ideal conformation and faults as I am looking for a good show puppy prospect and that is why I picke dup the book.

While the history section is not necessarily incorrect (although I noticed one error for sure), it is decidedly incomplete. It covers in depth the history of one kennel, Szumeria, while mentioning others' achievements only in passing, and omitting many impressive and valuable accomplishments of still others. While the history section is not necessarily incorrect (although I noticed one error for sure), it is decidedly incomplete. It covers in depth the history of one kennel, Szumeria, while mentioning others' achievements only in passing, and omitting many impressive and valuable accomplishments of still others. I find it notable, that these omitted accomplishments were often when Szumeria dogs had lost. I bought 6 copies of this book intending on giving them as holiday gifts, or maybe as donations for future show prizes. I'm considering returning them to Amazon instead.
