I loved this book. Dr. Harith Ghassany has blown the myth about what was happening prior to and during the Zanzibar Revolution. This is a well researched work based on facts and evidence and intellectually presented. We have heard many versions of what happened based on emotional outbusts of individuals who were old enough to remember events of those years and who translated them according to their world view, but not this one. Congratulations Dr. Ghassany for enlightening us. I just hope that the new generation of leaders in Zanzibar will read this book and change course from the politics of hate which was encouraged and fed by those who had nothing to offer except hate towards the Afrabia. A new dawn is definitely emerging in Zanzibar with the understanding of what actually happened. The Zanzibar diapora needed this work as well to put closure, I hope, to that nightmare and purge the demons that lived within us since then! May Allah rest in peace the souls of those men, women and children who perished during those senseless killings.
