Kwanzaa,
This review is from: Kwanzaa (Carolrhoda on My Own Books) (Library Binding)
The book provides a good background of slavery in America that kids can understand. This information is used to introduce the symbols of Kwanzaa. Moreover, the author explains all of them and the principles of the holiday. In addition, Kwanzaa provides several resources - description of the symbols, explanation of the principles, and a list of what you need for Kwanzaa. Yet, it had a few sticking points, such as the interjection of a slavery excerpt during the discussion of the principles that seemed to be out of place.
