If you're looking for a loud whistle that works when wet, this is your champ. It's wayyy loud and uses pea-less technology so if it's soaking, you're still good. You can put it on your life jacket. I'll probably use it to freak out my friends haha. But on the serious tip, I bought this as part of my survival kit (the zombies are coming in 2012 and they hate loud noises). It's loud, it's bright, it floats. It says you can put your keys on there as a floating keyring, but my keys are heavy, so I probably won't be trying that one out. Also, great color scheme if you're a Lakers fan. Or LSU, I suppose.

I wanted to get a whistle to use to try to keep my dogs from barking at every car that passed by our house. I tried the pet store first, but they told me that a lot of their metal dog training whistles had been recalled. This whistle is loud and easy to find when I need to use it. It has worked wonders on my dogs barking too!

All of a sudden, in the past couple months, I've been getting CONSTANT phone calls from telemarketers and creditors for some person who does not live here. Obviously some deadbeat gave their creditors a false phone number, and it happened to be ours. However try telling a creditor that the person they're looking for doesn't live here...yeah, they don't believe you. I've tried blocking them, but they call from many different numbers. We're moving soon, so I'm not going to change my phone number. In the end, I decided to get a whistle...a LOUD whistle, and this fit the bill perfectly! Every time these people call, as soon as they start to speak, I blow this as loud as I can into the phone. I'll tell you what, in the week I've been doing this, the calls have dropped by more than half. It may be incredibly mean, but they left me no choice. I'm definitely happy with this purchase.

This whistle is so shrill that they should provide earplugs for the user! Whew! Since I got this for my survival kit, I figure the more piercing the whistle, the better. I like the fact that it will float with a light load of keys, but I'll test that before I use it for such, however. At any rate, it's a keeper. (Go, UW Huskies!)

Just what you want for belting it out on the bay. Drives the family crazy when I toot it in the house.

I picked these up for emergency use, hiking pack, B.O. Bag. I returned all but one as I did not feel these were worth the money vs. the Wally Mart ones. They were ok and plenty loud but probably would have kept them if they were about half as much. Pea-less design is the way to go though. As usual Amazon took return with no hassles so I'm no worse for the wear.

Perfect..clips right to the front of my PFD and works even when wet, which is kind of the point!

Not too much you can say about a whistle, its loud and seems to be fairly good guality, the lanyard is nice and strong, its not going anywhere even when taking a hard spill off a jet ski.
