I hooked this tuner up to a 15 inch lcd computer monitor. This monitor is used only as a television in the kitchen. I do not have any computer components hooked up to it. It came with the wires necessary to turn a computer monitor into a tv. The picture quality is average; not nearly as good as an lcd television. The speaker is completely unacceptable. It is so "tinny," it was intolerable. I didn't expect much, but the sound was almost painful. I ordered Logitech R-10 Speakers for $16.88 from Amazon. They make a huge difference. I would recommend buying a less expensive tuner w/o speakers and add speakers.

I bought this box as a gift to my parents, I plugged it to a ViewSonic Projector to use it as a TV, and it works perfect, the TV tuner has all the features that a TV should has, also you can configure the aspect radio and also the resolution.

Five stars for this little box. Indeed, I'm gonna buy another one for me.

First let me say that this is indeed a high quality product. It does exactly what it says it will do. I took it out of the box and hooked it up to my 17 in. dell lcd (4:3) and was watching tv 5 minutes later. There was nothing to program or set up it is just "plug and play" You might want to hook it up to external speakers though.
Standard definition tv looks fine although if you sit really close you can see a little bit of "snow" It is not because of this product though. People dont realize that lcd monitors have many more pixels than the cable signal delivers so the image has to be streched.
If you want better image quality you need to get HD cable.
However, if you sit more than a few feet back it looks perfect.
Comes with a nice remote too and every cable you will need.

This is a really amazing product, you can watch tv, dvd or play videogame (xbox, ps2, etc) and work with your computer at the same time using the PIP function. It does support several color systems, also PAL-M here in Brazil, all resolutions until 1280x1024 and 1440x900 resolution of widescreen monitors. It worths the price.

I just picked this tuner up from the local store on a bit of a limb. There's not many reviews out there, but I went for it anyway.

First I should be clear, I'm not using this as a tv tuner. I honestly have no idea how well that aspect of this unit works, but I do know that for what I want it for, it works wonderfully.

I've been looking for a good way to hook up my Wii and other consoles up to my monitor (1440x900 19" widescreen) with the best quality possible at a cheap price. I have two other transcoders, including the somewhat raved over 'ypbpr to vga' box from mayflash. I had some issues with those boxes flashing on and off every few seconds with 480p inputs.

Anyway, what really turned me on to this unit over a standard pci tv tuner card (which I also have but really dislike) was that it has component inputs. I figured these were just for ease of use, and that the Kworld box would simply be a line doubler. I was pleasently surprised to find that it accepts progressive scan signals (ie: 480p, 720p)

The vga passthrough isn't up to snuff in my opinion. I tried runing my pc though it and the text was very blurry. I have since took the component out of my DVR box to a seperate transcoder and then to the Kworld for the passthrough, works great.

I highly reccommend this product if you are looking for a nice, yet still cheap way to play both standard def and progressive scan games on your monitor. As for the tv tuner... you're on your own there, sorry!

I bought this TV tuner so that I could use my extra monitor as a TV for both watching cable and playing Wii (through component cables), and since getting it have also been connecting my laptop through it to use as an dual monitor. It works excellently for all three, so I'll just point out the minor frustrations I've had with it.

-There's a small black space around all 4 edges of the screen on my monitor (mostly on the left and right). Not sure if this is the fault of my monitor or the tuner itself, but it is annoying.

-When connecting a computer through it to use as an extra monitor, the screen is a bit more blurry than it is if you connect the monitor directly to the computer, but it's not a big enough difference to be a real problem.

-Because the product itself is so small and lightweight, when you have a lot of heavy cables plugged into it, it tends to be pulled backwards off the dge of the desk or whatever it's on.

-When there are a lot of different inputs connected (in my case, TV cable, monitor cable, and Wii component cables) they can occasionally interfere with each other. Every once in a while when I switch to the Wii the picture is fuzzy and distorted until I unplug the monitor cable from my computer.

Those are the only annoyances I can think of right now. Other than those, it really does work very well for everything I've needed it for. Definitely a recommended product!

I bought this to replace a similar box from Planar, which is my standard for comparison here. While this is much smaller, and has some more advanced features than my previous box, it has some problems that are annoying: (1) my computer screen has gone somewhat blurry since I installed this -- I will need to find a way to hook this up to the monitor separately from the computer (the box is set up as a "pass through" between the computer and the monitor); (2) similarly, when I switch to computer, I have an annoying buzz coming from my speakers (the box is also set up as a pass through for sound between the computer and speakers); (3) the pre-set colors are horrible -- on the "bright" pre-setting everything is washed out, and on the other settings the tint is way too high -- I had to really fiddle a lot with the color, brightness and contrast settings to get a reasonable picture on the custom setting; I know my monitor is not the problem -- it is quite high end, and it worked great with the old Planar box; (4) the instructions are terrible, and they don't help at all in determining what the optimum resolution settings should be for your monitor.

I am putting up with all of the above, since this is just for use in the bedroom, and the computer is not used all that much. But if you use your computer a lot, or expect to use this box as your main TV source, look for a better box.

Although it obviously works, this product is of fairly low quality. I use one for tailgating and hook up an LCD monitor to it, while my GF uses the same setup (same tuner and monitor) as her main TV in her bedroom.

Picture is pretty grainy and colors aren't very good. After using it to watch TV at my GFs a decent amount, I'd highly recommend paying the extra money and getting one that can do HD.

turned my lcd monitor into a tv,just had to buy a good set of speakers.i hope they make some with digital tuners soon.so i can buy again.

This product is imperfect, yet for the money it is an incredible value. The manual is terrible, but was still able to get up and running with only a small hiccup (the speaker plugs are mislabeled in the manual). Plan on the added cost of external speakers, but unit does have an internal speaker (very poor) just in case. Picture is good, but not excellent, sound is mono. Also, with all the cables provided, the one cable you actually need (VGA) is not furnished. Plan on another $10.00 or so if you need to purchase one. On the plus side, the channels sweep very quickly, so it is not necessary to punch in channel numbers to move quickly around the dial-just hold down the up or down buttons and you are there in a few seconds.

Even with its imperfections, I love this product. If you have a spare computer monitor lying around and want an extra TV, buy it. I highly recommend.
