LIGHT IN WEIGHT
Acycast (specific gravity 1.19) is less than half the weight when compared to inorganic glass.
WATER-CLEAR
Colorless Acycast is crystal clear, and transmits 92% of visible light.
CHEMICAL RESISTANT
Acrycast is resistant to inorganic chemicals and normal chained hydrocarbons. However, contact with organic solvents may cause swelling, crazing, or cracking.
IMPACT RESISTANT
Acrycast is approximately 8 to 10 times more resistant to impact than ordinary plate glass.
EASY FABRICATION
Acrycast can be saw cut, drilled, routed, machined, solvent cemented, polished and strip bent using conventional acrylic sheet fabrication techniques.
THERMO FORMABLE
An excellent thermoplastic, Acrycast may be thermoformed. Because Acrycast is a cell cast sheet, it is not subject to the excessive shrinkage that is encountered in extruded or continuously manufactured sheets.
SURFACE HARDNESS
In general, Acrycast has a surface hardness almost identical to aluminum. Acrycast is harder than most other plastic sheeting, yet slightly softer than glass. Therefore, Acrycast may be scratched by abrasion.

It's a little expensive for a 1' x 2' sheet of plastic, but it is kydex and it is a fun material to work with. You will at least need a toaster oven to heat it, but a heat gun for softening specific areas of the plastic is recommended.

The product was as described and shipping went smoothly. I used this to thermoform a small sheath and it worked perfectly (after I got the hang of it after a few tries). Just a few minutes in the oven at 225 F and it was flexible and formable. It took me a few tries to mold the way I wanted, but it was easy to put back in the oven and start over. I did leave it in a little long on the last try and it shrank about 1/8 inches on the corners, so if thermoforming be sure to watch closely when heating and leave plenty of extra on the edges until you know how much time at temperature it needs. Another thermoforming note is that the thicker .093 will not mold to complex/detailed shapes as well as thinner sheets, but will be much stiffer and stronger.

It's plastic - but speedily shipped plastic!

OOPS!!!THIS KYDEX IS WAY TO THIN FOR A KNIFE SHEALTH.IT'S ABOUT AS THICK AS 3 OR 4 PCS OF PAPER.
