5.0 out of 5 stars Great toy
This is the first toy that my dogs have not ripped apart to take out the squeaker. They love it, and play with it all the time!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea but not sturdy enough

This toy is a great idea. My dogs loved the crackling sound that came from having an empty water bottle inside. A couple of weeks ago I bought one from another company. The fabric was much sturdier than this toy has. My dogs loved it so I decided to buy a couple more. For variety, I decided to order this toy thinking it would be just as sturdy. Within half an hour, my dog had bits of the fabric scattered all over the floor. She is having fun with it so I gave it three stars. By tomorrow morning, though, I think the body will have to be thrown away.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Quality- not for heavy chewers, May 27, 2010
I bought this toy based on the review that it was durable and for heavy chewers. My dog who is a one year old miniature schnauzer loved the toy and the crinkle at first sight and touch. five minutes later she has chewed apart the velcro and the top of the bottle was sticking out. I forced it back in and rezipped the velcro. 20 Minutes later the same thing happens and on top of that, she has chewed off one and a half of the cow's leg!!! This was an expensive toy for 30 minutes play time!!!! My husband makes better crinkle toys!

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun toy, unfortunately does not hold up over time, January 20, 2010
(Updated review, dropped rating to 2 stars)

This was a great toy that my 11 mo beagle loved...while it lasted.

This plush toy is a "stuffed" animal that has an empty water bottle inside instead of stuffing. It has a velcro flap that opens at the bottom so you can easily replace the bottle when it's worn out. The bottle gives a fun crunching sound and the material makes the bottle last longer and keeps it from exposing sharp edges that can cut my puppy's mouth.

I used to give my pup empty water bottles to play with until he started tearing thru them too fast. I bought this in the hopes that he could have fun crunching them again without the danger of ripping the bottle up.

Early on I noticed that he popped the seam on one of the bottom feet. Luckily, there's no stuffing in the feet and they aren't connected to any main seam on the body, so I cut off the feet without any real harm to the toy.

Worked great for the first few weeks, then I left it out, unsupervised, and it got shredded. The material was just too thin to withstand long-term usage.

I've since found a bottle cover made by Purina that looks kind of like firehose material. It's lasted much better/longer.

If you plan to let your dog use this toy in small doses and are good about picking up their toys immediately after use, then you could get some good mileage out of this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bottle Buddies are great!, September 12, 2009
These things hold up to quite a bit of chewing. They aren't indestructible if you have an avid chewer (I have a lab) but they hold up better than any other plush toy we've ever tried. And, it's great that they use a bottle as the noise maker. You can feel good about reusing a plastic water bottle and it's easily replaceable when it gets too flat to make noise. Great price here, too. I bought the first one at the local pet store and it cost me about 3 times what it cost here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and entertaining toy!, April 23, 2010

I remember I watched the video for this toy which is what prompted me to purchase it. I'm so glad I bought "Mr. Moo". Obviously I got the cow one, not the pig. It's a lot more durable than I expected especially with my puppy's razor sharp teeth. It provides us with hours of entertainment. :)

My miniature schnauzers love these. I have all 4. I would highly recommend them for all dogs that don't destroy toys.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gunther loves it!, January 7, 2010

Length:: 0:44 Mins

Just received the toy today and he hasn't put it down for the last three hours. He's already got a small hole in the outer part but the inner lining almost looks like kevlar so I doubt he can make it through it. The outer part of the toy probably won't make it more than a week or two though.

I really like the velcro bottom that allows you to put a new bottle in it...if the plush outside lasts long enough.

This review is from: Kyjen Plush Puppies Water Bottle Buddy Pig Dog Toy (Misc.)
I love the concept of this product and for a dog that isn't a severe chewer it would be great and long-lasting. The replacing of the water bottle makes for a constant renewal of the crackling noise that our dogs love to hear. We have an old dog who is unable to hear anymore, but seems to derive enjoyment still when making the pig 'crackle' and he is not destructive. This toy would last him for years. On the other hand our little rescue dog that we have had for six months and is probably about a year old now has made this toy look like it has been around for about 5 years instead of one month! She is a chewer and she has done a number on the pig. So I wouldn't say it's 'indestructible', but it's made well and should hold up well to most dogs. I would buy it again and I plan to buy a couple for Christmas to share with friends. I think the person who thought this up was very smart.

3.0 out of 5 stars design flaw, January 14, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My German Shepherds love this type of toy and have had quite a few. The material and seems are durable enough but the design is flawed. After a few chews the velcro closure pops open and the bottle comes out. My young dog is an "agressive" chewer so that takes about 2 seconds. My older dog is less agressive and mostly just enjoys crunching on the bottle (this type of toy protects from sharp edges and the bottles last longer), but even for her the bottle pops out in a couple of minutes. So far the best one for my dogs has been the AKC bottle buddies toys.
I also tried the Bamboo fat cat toys and those were even less satisfactory as the seams came apart the first play session.
