Editorial Reviews

Review

Publishers Weekly
“Fashion and divas go together like chocolate and peanut butter, so a big, flashy, colorful book on pop music star Minogue feels like an easy indulgence ...In spite of—or perhaps because of—its occasional over-the-top artifice, this fun book challenges anyone not to fall a little in love with Kylie.”

New York Daily News

“Down Under wonder Kylie Minogue has sold more than 68 million records and been called ‘the ulimate dress-up doll.’ Look no further than Kylie/Fashion to see that she lives up to the label. In the picture-packed coffee-table book, Minogue chronicles designers who’ve dressed her over the past 25 years.”

V Magazine

“Now, for the first time in the U.S., Minogue shares a dazzling selection of her signature looks with Kylie Fashion, a monograph chronicling her style over the past 25 years. With photos by industry legends and featuring pieces designed by Julien MacDonald, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney, and more, it’s a must-have collection of pop cultural eye candy that any Kylie connoisseur can’t miss. Featuring a foreword by fashion kingpin and close friend Jean Paul Gaultier, it’s a no-brainer for fashion fiends as well.”

Great coffee table book if you like Kylie.
L. Wininger
This is very thorough and the emphasis is on fashion so most of the comments relate to the clothes and styling.
Buffy
I have been a Kylie Minogue fan since I was very young and her first ablum Kylie came out in 1988.

This is a gourgeous "coffee table" anthology packed with beautiful photography documenting Kylie's influence on fashion and beauty, including her most elaborate stage costumes and commercial dancewear and lingerie. Top quality printing and book binding, this is a large volume with just enough text to explain the lavish photos, biographical details and backstage production. Fans of Kylie, Pop Culture, Fashion and Glamour will all treasure this!!!

This is my new favorite Kylie fashion photo book! The book is page after page of full color images of Kilie in her many sexy and glamorous outfits over the years. There are both familiar images and new images that are presented in chronological order from her Locomotion video to the present. Photos are pulled from video shoots, magazines, calendars, cd covers, live shows and more. Even if you think you've seen it all there is fresh imagery to look at. This is very thorough and the emphasis is on fashion so most of the comments relate to the clothes and styling. A big plus is that this is not a design-y type book in the layout (like la-la-la) which is good because the photos are the main star here presented in a clean way. There are a few concept sketches of some costumes but mostly its photo after photo. If you like looking at Kylie's costumes and fashions then you cannot go wrong with this book. What a fun way to look back at all of those sexy images from past to prsent. Highly recommended and worth every penny.

Knowing I'm a huge Kylie fan, my bf pre-ordered this book back before it was released. I live in America, so it was on back-order for 5 months(!).

But it was definitely worth the wait. Kylie has such an amazing fashion sense. I love the earlier parts of the book, where Kylie wore her own clothes, did her own hair, and posed for photographers. Her commentary makes it so surreal. They're more than just the Kylie photos we've seen over the years... there's actual meaning to them... And the reminiscing aspect is just so cool. Different designers put their two cents in on working with Kylie, and Kylie dishes on exactly what some of the fashion and opportunities meant to her. It's a really personal look into her career and experiences... I absolutely love it!

To any Kylie fan out there, GET THIS BOOK! It's amazing! <3

I have been a Kylie Minogue fan since I was very young and her first ablum Kylie came out in 1988. Bought Enjoy Yourself in 1989, all of Kylies releases from 1990 to 2000 via import, and her ablums from 2001 to the present on the date of release in US record stores. So that will tell you how much of a Kylie fan I am. So when I heard about Kylie Fashion, I knew I had to have it! So glad I purchased it from Amazon. I cannot stop looking at it! The photos of Kylie never cease to amaze. And unlike La La La, William Baker does not seem keen on interviewing himself. It is also an insightful book! Kylie Fashion is a essential for all Kylie fans, both for those who have been fans since the 1980s, and for those who may have just discovered her music.

I converted to Minoguism somewhere around 2005-2006, The Ultimate Kylie / Showgirl era. The 'Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour' was in fact my first Kylie show I saw on DVD and completely fell in love with Kylie. I was blinded and drawn by the lights, the colours, the costumes (the blue Showgirl gown!!!)...

And then, my first very Kylie album came to me from the Bardot-esque, rock glam coquette Body Language era. And in spite to the general reviews, in my opinion it's one of her best albums, both visually and musically. What struck me the most of both eras, was how coherent and strong the visuals and fashion were and from there, I started making my way through her back catalogue.

This cannot simply be attained, without falling in love with Kylie's collaboration with the world's top renowned and unknown fashion designers and the book does a good job in documenting her growth in the bizz. From her soap opera princess days to becoming the amazing pop star and fashion goddess that she is, the book takes you along Kylie's evolution in music and in her personal development and seeing how she became more comfortable with herself and blossomed with her own style.

Love every picture on it and here's to the next #K25!!! Whoop!!!

Hail to my friends David and Sara for bringing me this book for my birthday! They are beyond belief sensitive to a fellow's needs and wants.

I had my eye on this vook from the beginning. It;s not that every book on Kylie is good, though I never read one I didn't enjoy. For me the first and still the best was, oh I don't know what they call it but it's known as Kylie Evidence, from the late 90s? Came in a box? That book showed off the extent of Kylie's collaborations not only with top designers but with the crème de la crème of British and international artist, from Pierre et Gilles to Wolfgang Tillmans to, ah what's her name, she made that film about a teenage John Lennon and then married its teenage star. Well, the anagram for "Kylie Minogue" is "I like em young," and this woman artist underlined that in red! I know, I'll Google her name, oh here you go, Sam Taylor-Wood, the one who's directing Fifty Shades of Grey. Anyway, Kylie Fashion is pretty cool. At first I thought, they're not giving enough space to the pre-Light Years era, but that was heavily covered in "Evidence," and perhaps in the splashy, vacuous, "La La La," and though I feel that the 90s were the decade in which Kylie was the most glamorous, there is still enough greatness in the 2000s, the cancer years, and the Aphrodite rollout to make the act of reading "Fashion" a pleasure from cover to cover.

As other reviewers have noted, there's not too much of Kylie's longtime stylist William Baker in this one and for that we can all be grateful. I don't know about you, but I was sick of him from the minute I saw the videos for "Please Stay" and "Your Disco Needs You.
