best deconstruction album from kylie,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Kylie Minogue (Spec) (Audio CD)
This double album is excellent.Disc 1 is the original album and Disc 2(Bonus Disc)is full of remixes and a few b-sides.It also includes the French version of "Confide in me",which was only available on the Japanese version of this album.Disc 1 tracklisting: 1.Confide in me(5.51)2.Surrender(4.25)3.If I was your lover(4.44)4.Where is the feeling?(6.58)5.Put yourself in my place(4.54)6.Dangerous Game(5.30)7.Automatic Love(4.45)8.Where has the love gone?(7.45)9.Falling(6.42)10.Time will pass you by(5.26) I Don't really need to say much about these because all 10 songs are a masterpiece!!!! Bonus Disc Tracklisting: 1.Dangerous Overture(1.19)2.Confide in me-Justin Warfield mix(5.27)3.Put yourself in my place-Dan's Old School mix(4.30)4.Where is the feeling?-Acoustic Version(4.50)5.Nothing Can Stop Us(4.05)6.Love is waiting(4.48)7.Time Will pass you by-Paul masterson mix(7.33)8.Where is the feeling?-West end TKO mix(8.11)9.Falling-Alternative Mix(8.39)10.Confide in me-Big brothers mix(10.28)11.Surrender-Talking Soul mix(4.25)12.Put yourself in my place-Acoustic Version(4.46)13.If you don't love me-Acoustic Version(2.10)14.Confide in me-French version(5.54) The Justin Warfeild mix of "Confide in me" is very hip-hop heavy weight and is excellent. The Dan's old school mix of "Put yourself in my place" gets a total make-over!!!-one of the high spots on here.Check out the Acoustic versions for "Where is the feeling?,Put yourself in my place" and "If you Don't love me".Those are brilliant. The B-Sides "Nothing can stop us" and "Love is waiting" are very good."Nothing can stop us" is very interesting. The Paul Masterson mix of "Time will pass you by" is very very very good. The West end TKO mix of "Where is the feeling?"-OH MY GOD!!!! Did kylie really do this?...It is fabulous. The "falling" alternative mix is good-a bit of extendence in there and a giggle at the end of the mix, which wasn't found on the original version. The Big Brothers mix of "confide in me" goes on for more than 10 minutes and is very cool because it includes part of "Dangerous game" where kylie sings "Wake up baby, give yourself to me.I'm the one for you,I'll show you intimacy.Forever,no question, unbridle my affection. And you will feel my love explode in your direction".This remix presents you with a dub version, still good though. The talking soul mix of "Surrender" leaves kylie talking through the whole song and the beat is more R'N'B style, this time. Then the last track, the french version of "Confide in me".At last...Waiting is over and we get to here it on our remastered edition.Excellent work, kylie.

"Kylie Goes Indie",
By Creature of the Night (New York, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kylie Minogue (Spec) (Audio CD)
That was the title of almost all news about Kylie in 1994! After P/W/L years, Kylie released "Confide In Me" as her first single from self titled album. It was a shock for those who were waiting for a new PWL production track. So, the first single of the album received both positive and negative criticism from authorities.
As a Kylie fan, i can honestly say that this is my favorite Kylie album. The down tempo tracks such as "Automatic Love" , "Dangerous Game" and "Put Yourself In My Place" are the songs where you can hear Kylie's incredible vocals best. I was like "OMG" when i first heard these songs. Confide In Me is another bend of the album where Kylie really "goes" indie pop and succeeds it. The amazing "Surrender" is another cool song which follows Confide In Me and makes you wanna listen to it over and over again. The rest of the album is also full of Kylie's experimental songs such as "Falling","Where Has The Love Gone?" which makes you feel like you're chillin' after a party. "Where Is The Feeling?" and "Time Will Pass You By" are the other amazing songs where you can hear Kylie's vocal at her best. The bonus CD also includes cool remixes of the tracks i've mentioned above. Justin Warfield's "Confide In Me" remix, Dangerous Overture, and acoustic sessions from Kylie with songs such as "If You Don't Love Me" and "Put Yourself In My Place" are rarities which you can hear only from this CD. On the first impulse, i can recommend this album to all Kylie Minogue fans as a must or to guys who misses 90's and wants to listen to some good pop music. Because this album is where you can find "too much of a good thing".

1994 Studio Album,
By
This review is from: Kylie Minogue (Spec) (Audio CD)
Between 1988- 1992, Australian Pop diva, Kylie Minogue notched up a series of U.K Top 10 smash hits (4 of those going to No.1) on the PWL record label, under the guidance of Stock, Aikten And Waterman.
However in 1993 she left the label and completely re-invented herself, signing to the dance label, Deconstruction. In mid 1994 she returned to the charts with the hauntingly atmospheric, Confide In Me, which still stands as one of her most compelling recordings. Kylies vocal delivery had clearly improved since the days of I Should Be So Lucky and now had a neat little sound of her own going on. Confide In Me with its mesmerising musical arrangements, quickly catapulted to No.2 on the U.K charts. (however she has never really cracked the American market though has indeed gathered up a series of loyal fans over there). Surrender is a funky slice of Pop where Kylies delivery is breathy and seamless and really brings out the natural qualities in her voice. The multi-talented, Prince produced the funky, swinging, If I Were Your Lover, which is uplifting in its tone and was worthy of a single release with its striking mixture of musical arrangements. The fantastic dance cut, Where Is The Feeling?, is of significant musical value. Merrily bouncy, the track features an uplifting performance from its star which coats the infectious rhythm. Put Yourself In My Place is a more mid-tempo track where again her true vocal abilities gets chance to shine brightly. What stands as one of the albums highlight is the breathtakingly beautiful ballad, Dangerous Game, with its compelling musical arrangments to Kylies sensual and exuberant vocal delivery. The track leads to an exalting climax on which she sounds utterly fabulous. Kylie proves she certainly can indeed hold a note on the sensational, Automatic Love where her performance is assertive and vastly solid. The album then scores one of its ultimate highlights with the fantastic Dance/Pop track, Where Has The Love Gone? which again leads to an exalting climax and is so jamming and infectious with its arrangements. More mesmerising is the hypnotic, trance-like tone of Falling, which features an angelic performance from its star. What then appears to be leading up to a grand final, is let down by the surprisingly lacklustre, Time Will Pass You By, which was produced by 1990's pop sensation, M People, which was fronted by Heather Small. Its average enough but lacks spark and the dynamic force of the rest of the album. Still, all in all, this album refreshingly revitalised Kylies recording career and is amongst the divas greatest accomplishments. It became a big seller in the U.K though received little recognition in the U.S. A classic in her repotoire.

Probably, Best Album that Kylie has put out,
By Rodrigo "Dnl" (San Luis Potosí, México) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kylie Minogue (Spec) (Audio CD)
This is a great album ! In this case, is the special edition, the 1st disc is the original album remastered, that's super !
So let's talk about it first, the first track is "Confide in me", a pop song really matture which seems to have arabic sounds too, is an awesome track, is probably one of the best Kylie tracks, is sophisticated, seductive and really cool, you have to listen it, perfect to open this great album. The disc offers ballads, but all of them are really mature, seems to try to be adult contemporary ballads and they are called Surrender (very sexy), Put yourself in my place (beautiful), Dangerous game and Automatic Love, this two last ones are really nice with "adult" lyrics and perfect musical arrengements, like orchestral efforts with also mature background vocals, so that complement the songs in a good form. The album also has dance songs, and all of them are really dance-pop and very very long (sometimes repetitives, but they are really addictive), they are called Where is the feeling, Where has the love gone?, Falling and Time will pass you by; I have to say that even when they're dance-pop, all of them are not simmilar to other songs that appears on typical Kylie albums (like Fever, Light years or Aphrodite), in this case, the songs are more dance oriented and obviously the "adult lyrics" make them sound different and originals. We could find an attemt to RnB called "If I was your lover", ir an excellent song too !! Now, let's go with the BONUS DISC It has three b-sides, "Dangerous overture" is basically a 1 minute song, seems that they wanted to make an album with a "disney movie concept" at first cause it's an outtake song but is pretty cool, like listen an horror kiddy movie, you have to listen it. Then we find "Nothing can stop us" really, really great, a little bit different of the Original disc concept and i also think that is a cover but is a really good song, i can say the same for "Love is waiting", the other b.side It contains also the french version of "Confide in me", is ok. The rest of this disc are just remixes and edit radio versions, almost all of them are cool. Just want to say that for me, is the best cd that Kylie has put out, seems that in that edge she was in a very creative process, and her musical ambitions were more than today. It is a mature album definitly, very adult, seductive and awesome!!! A perfect album So, if you are a Kylie fan this edition is a must have If you have listened Kylie in her commercial days (now), give it a chance, you won't be dissapointed, i think that actually you will be surprised 10/10

I remember that zune recommnded this album to me a few years ago, and I loved it. I was at first, hesitate because I read from alot of places that this is where her career took a nose dive. But i gotta say this has to be one of her best cd's. Put yourself in my place is a great upbeat ballad, and Kylie can really sing well on this song. The video is pretty cool as well. It def. reminds me of madonna or britney spears. Confide in me was a pretty kickbutt hiphop type song as well. I really liked this song. A fe of the other trcks had the same feel as well. I wish i had this cd to listen to again! It's def. a must have for any fan of pop music. This has to be one of her best albums. It's a shame it's very undrrated.

Introducing DanceKylie Goodbye SexKylie,
This review is from: Kylie Minogue (Spec) (Audio CD)
At the end of 1992, Kylie begins to tone down with her sexy image since it was started on Rhythm Of Love. Now leaving Mushroom and SAW. Kylie begins to take a new direction of creativity. Released in 1994 by Arista/Deconstruction. Opening the album with Confide In Me. Song is very enjoyable and quite frankly the song is about masturbation. For example, sometimes to release it, is to set our children free.
Surrender:very seductive and very sensual. I love this song but its very sparkling I wish this was a hit single. If I was Your Lover:Originally supposed to be the follow up to Confide In Me as a single. Mixes with Hip Hop and great track. Where Is the Feeling?: Oh I love this song so much.Even though the album version is 7 mins long, it is perfect for a rainy day. The BIR remix is very sensual and spoken lyrics. Put Yourself In My Place: Kylie's best downtempo moment. This is a very heartbreaking song especially the end of the song where you can hear Kylie cries in the end. Dangerous Game: Poignant lyrics and mood is very sad, Love this song love the line "I'm getting weaker by the hour". Automatic Love: Great vocal lyrics and Love the content and the meaning of the song including the acoustic version. Where Has The Love Gone?: Great song another one for a rainy day which leads into: Falling: Spoken song very long an great song. Time Will Pass You By: great way to close the album especially the mid eastern sounds. Overall this is a excellent album very serious album art.

Kylie, Where Has your Great Music Gone in the 2000s?,
By Mohammed Al Zayer "Raiven" (Jubail, Saudi Arabia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kylie Minogue (Spec) (Audio CD)
If you are a fan of Kylie dance music don't buy this, but if you like both dance and slow songs this is the perfect album. This album is a quantum leap in Kylie Minogue's career, because she tended to deal with other producers she had never dealt with, including Steve Anderson, Dave Seaman, M People, Pete Heller, Terry Farley and Jimmy Harry. If you start listening you will never pause the player, you will be amazed with the rhythm which seams a 2000s produciton. Starting with the middle eastern influenced song "Confide In Me" and ending with the dance song "Time Will Pass You By" you will find how magical is this album. There is a great balance between two genres in this album that we can't find in her current gay-disco releases including Light Years, Fever, Body Language and X. If you want to discover new Kylie just listen to the sixth track "Dangerous Game", you won't understand that the same singer who sings "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" is the same one who sings this song. Minogue in this song shows us how great is her voice and how great are her lyrics. "Automatic Love" is another lovely song from Miss Minogue, you can just relax and hear this song in morning. "Surrender" is a Pop-R&B song, and don't be amazed when you hear this song I know it is a 1994 song and should be done in old style but you wouldn't mind if you hear a simple fact, Kylie is always ahead of the time in doing the newest melodies, like this album was released in 1994 and we just started to hear the same melodies from fake american black producers. "Where Is The Feeling?" and "If I Was Your Lover" are perfect songs for parties. The Pet Shop Boys cover "Falling" is yet another great cover following the previous cover singles "The Loco-Motion", "Tears on My Pillow" and "Celebration". The second single from the album "Put Yourself In My Place" alone is enough reason to make you buy this album, if your lover is leaving you to another lap, this song can remove all the sadness inside your heart. "Where Has the Love Gone?" is a club feel song, it is good but not as good as the other tracks on this album. Finally, don't buy Fever nor X nor anyother Kylie album, "Kylie Minogue" worth all of them.
