5.0 out of 5 stars A Spectacular Record of a Great Star
Wow! Page after oversized page of the most imaginative, beautiful and kooky photographs ever made of any one performing artist. Good work by all concerned, especially by Kylie Minogue who lets herself, in this compilation, be photographed and otherwise rendered in a variety of bizarre and embarrassing ways, all in the name of art. 3.0 out of 5 stars So-So Photographic Essay
KYLIE is a great singer and.. I'd say actress but I've only seen her in a wee lil part as Cammy in Street Fighter. Because I love her music... I decided to buy this book after much praise from others.

To my surprise, I found this book containing much more nudity than I expected.. It was also much bigger than it looked from the pictures (of the cover I had) seen...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Spectacular Record of a Great Star, February 2, 2001

And the artists involved are fantastic, the creme de la creme of the new British and European avant-garde, including Wolfgang Tillmans, Sam Taylor-Wood, Pierre et Gilles, and so many more. In this way Minogue pokes fun at herself as a kind of cultural Gumby figure, infinitely pliant and plastic, the object of fantasy and yet somehow the subject of her own demesne. Viva Kylie Minogue--vivat, vivat Regina!

5.0 out of 5 stars like madonna's "sex" book, "kylie" is an amazing art book, March 16, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Kylie (Hardcover)
This beautiful, 5 pound art book is a treasure for the kylie connisour.

This stunning array of images with some very tasteful NUDES visually maps out the many transformations Kylie has undergone at the hands of stylists, artists and photographers.

In addition to photographs there are beautiful illustrations and video "grabs", even a life-size Kylie photocopy. Kylie give us Kylie at her coyest, at her most naked.

Hot pink-clad book comes in a sturdy, full color 10 inch x 15 inch slipcase cover

5.0 out of 5 stars Anatomy of a Pop Princess., April 26, 2000
This review is from: Kylie (Hardcover)
Kylie Minogue did an interesting thing in putting together this book. She allowed fans to see the good, the bad and the ugly. This was a very brave move on her part. Many artists wouldn't have let you see EVERYTHING and I am not talking about nudes here. My only regret as an American fan is knowing that there is SO much more out there and I want it, too!

That said, there are some beautiful pictures, tributes and commentaries. Well worth it.

This book represents Kylie as photographers have portrayed her, how her friends see her, and how she sees herself.

This is kylie in true form!

A must for all.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Kylie" is a must-have for all Kylie fans!, April 17, 2000

Kylie, the book, isn't quite what I had expected. It was BETTER! In addition to some of the most amzing pictures of Kylie from nearly every stage of her career, the book featured many brand new and previously unavailable photos. And clever words by the likes of Pete Waterman, Boy George, Ben Lee and Sir Elton John himself. Throw in some artful nudes and fantastic sketches and other art, and you have my vote for 5 stars. Kylie, the international superstar, is a true legend in her own time, and Kylie, the book, proves it!

"Kylie" is an international icon, and it was only natural of her to want to illustrate her life through photographic images and artwork. "Kylie" contains pictures of pop singer Kylie Minogue from her childhood to her status as international icon and most beautiful woman in the world. This book illustrates what it means to be "Kylie", in her own words and those of her friends, family, and peers in the music world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Design, Great Pictures of an International Icon, January 1, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Kylie (Hardcover)
When I was 7, I was entranced by the beautiful lady on my TV Screen singing 'The Locomotion'. What happened to her from that point to when I first heard 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' two summers ago was a mystery...until I bought this book. Since releasing 'Fever', I have become a big Kylie fan and bought this book to see what exactly has made her so famous in virtually every other country of the world.

Plain and simple, and detailed in this book as well as 'La La La' by William Baker, image had A LOT to do with it. Kylie is a very beautiful woman who is willing to become a blank canvas for her art, thus giving various facets to her pop persona. She is pop princess, avant-garde revivalist, indie paramour, cheesy, classy, showgirl and icon. This book displays pictures from all of these points, flattering and otherwise.

The design of this book is also great and I'm sure it will remain a collector's item for Kylie fans in the future.
