La musique fantastique!,

Every song on this CD is amazing and it's really hard to
pick a favorite. The lyrics are impressive, but the music is great, regardless of your knowledge of French. I play it for people all the time who don't know French and they all want to buy it immediately. I only wish the band would make a DVD of their videos available here in the U.S. If MTV had any sense at all, they would stop playing the same rap songs 24 hours a day and put KYO on for a change. I bought this CD when it first came out and I've ordered copies of it recently for friends and family.

Even if you don't speak french, let alone understand it being sung, I guarantee you will love the great vocals and awesome guitar riffs on this album. It's a lot better than most mainstream american bands I've heard. It's all over the place, with punk, rock, electronic, pop, and also more delicate alternative type songs. All their songs are totally different, and their lead singer Benoît Poher has this super sexy voice. The girl who introduced me to this band couldn't understand them, but she loves it anyway. It's great if you're learning french too. You'll discover that the french have truly awesome rock bands too. Merçi!

Kyo is French Pop at its Finest,
By

I wan in France this summer (2004) and I kept listening to one song in particular by Kyo on the radio called "Chaque Seconde" which translates into every second. It's a great pop song which parallels the musical styles of BBmak, Dashboard Confessional and a little edge that 3 Doors Down possesses. It's a sound rarely seen in mainstream american pop now a days. "Chemin" is a great album that even the non French speaker can get into with their catchy rifts and easy to listen lyrics.

They're addictive!,

I lived in France this summer and "Derniere Danse" was playing on the radio... I was instantly hooked! All my friends love it too. Even if you don't understand the words, they still pack tons of appeal. I'm trying to think of an American band to compare them too but it's really hard because they are so unique.. if you are looking for a not so mushy coldplay and a not so yelling jimmy eats world..mixed with super catchyness powers...you'll like Kyo

I love this album. Their songs are melodic and harmonic. The lyrics are poetic and insightful, with beautiful and haunting imagery, reflecting a variety of states of mind, from tortured to introspective to joyful. The words are all in French, so to truly appreciate their music I've been driven to the dictionary. My favorite of all is "Chaque Seconde," reminding us to savor the pleasure of existence. And nobody writes passionate love songs like the French!

They're a little closer to emo than I usually get, but I like them all the same. Their songs are sweet and easy to sing along to. I got my copy at Virgin, then looked here to see what other cd's they had out. Enjoy. I just wish there were sample tracks on this website.

I lived in Switzerland for 4 years and when I was there, Kyo started becoming famous. I think they are an excellent band and I love them to bits. I have bought many good CD's since I bought theirs, yet I still listen to it about 2 times a day (I knew all the words by the second week of the CD because I played it so much) Their songs are catchy and I find myself humming them to myself during the day. I put which songs came out first, but I left a bit after they started to become really known, so i'm not sure what came out since then (June)
Le Chemin -- 7/10 Their first single, and featuring Sita (I also got her CD later on). Je Cours -- 9.75/10 Their third single. One of the best songs on the CD, in my opinion. Dernière Danse -- 8/10 Their third single. Tout Envoyer En l'Air -- 8.5/10 There was a music video of this, a live concert one, so I'm not sure whether they made a single of it. Great song. Chaque Seconde -- 9.5/10 Pardonné was originally my favourite song, but later on it changed to this one. It has since since changed, but this is still a great song. Comment Te Dire -- 10/10 One of my favourite songs on the CD. My favourite part of the song is the verse part, although I really like the chorus too. Je Saigne Encore -- 11/10 Their fourth single. My absolute favourite song on the CD. Benoît's voice seems to heart-wrenching here. I love the lyrics too and use them in all my profiles :) (I also use their other lyrics too, of course) Je Te Vends Mon Âme -- 9/10 The beginning is my favourite parts of the song, because it seems just a tad haunting and mysterious. I love. Pardonné -- 9.5/10 This was my original favourite song. After this came Chaque Seconde, then finally rested at Je Saigne Encore/Comment Te Dire. This is an excellent song. This, like the beginning of Je Te Vends Mon Âme, seems a tad haunting too. It seems echoing. Sur Nos Lèvres -- 8.5/10 I didn't like this song at first, yet now I think it's great. Tout Reste À Faire -- 9.25/10 This is more than just a tad haunting. I love this song. It's a great ending to the CD, because it is more relaxing and very calm. I could easily fall asleep with this playing. Kyo rocks! |
