Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Kyocera Finecam L4v sets industry standards with its 2.5-inch LCD screen. Compared to typical digital camera LCD's, it's like having a home theater in your digital camera. With its 4-megapixel CCD sensor, you can capture imagery for print enlargements beyond 11 x 14 inches. The Finecam L4v also features a 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom for a 12x total.

You'll be able to easily catch breath-taking shots with the Finecam L4v's multi-shooting modes, which include macro, landscape and color (color, sepia, b/w). Five flash modes handle all lighting situations: auto flash, red-eye reduction auto flash, fill-in flash, flash-off or night-time portrait

The Finecam L4v makes it easier than ever to remember when and where pictures are taken with voice recording capability, with up to a 30-second message attached to each image. Additionally, an AVI movie mode enables you to record a movie with sound for up to 120 seconds.

Images are stored on Secure Digital (SD) or MultiMedia (MMC) memory cards; a 16 MB SD card is included.

The camera is powered by a CR-V3 lithium battery (included); two AA-sized rechargeable NiMH batteries are recommended. It measures 4.4 x 2.1 x 1.4 inches and weighs 6 ounces. This package includes the Finecam L4v digital camera, 16 MB Secure Digital card, battery, USB and A/V cables, hand strap, and CD-ROM with imaging software and USB drivers for Windows and Mac.

5.0 out of 5 stars non-techno review, December 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Kyocera Finecam L4V 4MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Electronics)
We've only had this camera for a few days and we are thrilled with it. I say "only" because we can't review the battery life yet. It is so lightweight it is incredible. The resolution is great and the lcd screen is wonderful. The manual is written for techno dummies like us and so far we haven't had a problem downloading the pictures to our PC (we have windows xp home edition) and erasing the pictures from the card. Our cell phone is a Kyocera and we figured, "what the heck? If the phone works as well as the camera, we should be ok". OK is an understatement. If you are not professional photographers, we recommend this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good, February 3, 2006
This review is from: Kyocera Finecam L4V 4MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Electronics)
I have owned a Kyocera L4V for 2 years now. I am very pleased with the camera's quality. It's not the best camera out there, but it certainly is perfect for beginners-intermediate users.

I noticed that some reviewers have complained about the battery life. Well I have to say that from my 2 years experience, my batteries last me an average of 2 months- and I take pictures regularly. The key is not to leave the thing on for long spans of time. I buy my batteries at the local supermarket for about $8.00 (Duracel or Energizer). You can find the original charger on http://www.kyoceraimaging.com/prodacc.asp?itemnum=300200.

The picture quality is very good. You might have to play a little with the easy to use settings to make them perfect, but for point&shooting functioning it is not bad at all.

The zoom is also great, and lets you capture photos of things that are far, far away.

4.0 MP is a lot!!! I have it set up for use at about 2.0 MP (which shows real well on full screen and works for prints up to 8x10) and I get about 180 pictures on a 64mb card.

Overall I have to say that I recommend this to any one who is searching for a GOOD QUALITY, EASY TO USE, VALUE CAMERA...

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolute piece of garbage - 15 min battery life maximum., January 31, 2006

This review is from: Kyocera Finecam L4V 4MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Electronics)
Unless you have the DC adapter and a very long extension cord, I'd recommend staying away from this camera. You'll be lucky to get more than 15 minutes of use out of this camera when running on battery power, and that's with brand new batteries. There have been too many special moments that I have not been able to capture because the battery in this camera didn't last long enough to snap a single picture. What good is a camera without power? I can't even begin to express my level of frustration with this camera. I can't even sell it to someone else and keep a clear conscience. I'd recommend saving a few extra dollars and buying a Cannon or Nikon, instead of wasting money on a product that you can't rely on.
