I used this a few times while living in Japan. Honestly, it was easier to use a navi or to just read the Japanese maps on the train stations.

This review is from: Kyoto-Osaka, a Bilingual Atlas (Paperback)
This atlas now sells 'New" for up to 8 times its original (1992) price. This is absurd .. but nothing available approaches its usefulness. The supposed-to-be 'equivalent' internet maps available today are indifferently bilingual. This atlas is fully bilingual and quite accurate. For the traveler who does not read Kanji, it is a lifesaver and a dependable guide. Let us pray that Kodansha finds it feasible to re-issue or update this version and also the same format for the Tokyo area. In the meantime, buy any 'Used' copy in reasonable condition.
