This review is from: Kyuktooki : Korean Kickboxing Vol 1 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I bet most people haven't. I have both tapes in the set, but definitely recommend this one if you are a full contact fighter. The second tape is geared more toward recreational/beginner students. Kyuktooki is similar to Muay Thai except some throws and takedowns are allowed. Fighters compete in K-1 type events in Asia and Europe. There may be Kyuktoooki fighters in the US, but this was filmed in Korea so I can't say for sure. The fighters demonstrating the skills on this tape are primarily an Asian champion and an unnamed partner plus some short demos by a female fighter and a cute boy who say he wants to fight professionally. The interviews are interesting, but the real meat of the tape lies in the techniques, which look very effective and focus on maximum punishment through punching, elbows, knee strikes, kicks and a few takedowns on a hard floor that had me cringing. |
