Le Orme - Italian Progressive Rock Masters Still Going Strong,
By

This review is from: L段nfinito (Audio CD)
The Italian progressive rock stalwart's most recent release finds the band once again putting out a very strong album. The main difference on this disc is a new keyboard player. He plays a lot of very "guitar" sounding keyboards which gives this album a bit of a different feel from much of the band's earlier works. Everything else sounds like vintage Le Orme and I would think that fans of the band's older material would really enjoy this album. I am not quite sure if this is a concept album or not (lyrics are all in Italian), but from the way everything seems to flow together I suspect that it may be. Le Orme remains one of the all time great Italian progressive rock outfits and this album is evidence that the band still has it.

Still A Great Band After More Than 35 Years!!!,
By
This review is from: L段nfinito (Audio CD)
I can't believe this CD hasn't been reviewed here yet. I got it over a year ago, and I cannot get over how fresh their sound is on this release. They continue to amaze with their diversity (they use some sitar here and there) instrumentally and compositionally. 32 years after the release of Uomo di Pezza, they are on top of their game with L'Infinito. Although the keyboardist has changed, they still have a Hammond organ-driven sound, which is still in the style of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. There are tender ballads, funky organ-driven rockers, and world-beat (staying with the times) songs. Each song flows into the next, giving the relatively short album a concept feel to it. Aldo Tagliapietra's voice is as strong as ever, and remains the trademark of the band (along with the keyboard stylings). If you are a fan of earlier works, or enjoy ELP, DO ADD THIS to your collection. You won't regret it.

One of the best Le Orme cd's ever, along with Uomo Di Pezza. If you have not seen yet the DVD of Live In Pennsylvania, you must do at once. You'll enjoy it because contains several songs of L'Infinito.
