The BEST for my hands!,
By Phoebe Oh (central Illinois) - See all my reviews
This review is from: L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream Trio (Health and Beauty)
My hands had gotten so rough and became painfully cracked around the knuckles from frequent hand washing and hand sanitizing, but this really softened and healed my skin. It absorbs really well and has a pleasant scent. (I liked it so much I bought a bunch of the little tubes to give as gifts at work.)
This works better than anything else I've tried, and I've tried Neutrogena Norwegian formula, Vaseline Intensive Care, Jergens, Curel, Lubriderm, Eucerin, Aveeno and other common brands. Pros of the L'Occitane cream: 1. Moisturizes super effectively. 2. Absorbs well without lots of greasiness. 3. Fragrance pleasant and not too strong. Cons: 1. Price. 2. Lack of UV protection. The only other hand cream that worked about as well was Ahava (but Ahava is also kind of expensive). Cheaper alternatives (not quite as effective, but still quite good): Eucerin Calming Creme (which is fragrance free and comes in a nice, large tube) is pretty rich, and Neutrogena Norwegian Formula or Norwegian Formula FAST ABSORBING Hand Cream. But if you can afford the L'Occitane, then get it. (I use it in winter when the heat sucks the moisture out of everything, and use the less expensive stuff or stuff with SPF 15 in summer when it's more humid and I'm outdoors.)

Nice for a gift-and for yourself,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this on a whim with a gift cerfificate. I'm glad I did. This is perfect to keep in your purse or in your desk at work. I'm a teacher and my co-workers and students are always asking to borrow this. So, I'm gving these out as gifts for the holidays. (and by the way, the boys like this as much as the girls). My skin is not very dry, but frequent hand-washing dries them out. This doesn't absorb quickly, so don't use too much. A little goes a long way. My friend has very dry skin and says this shea butter cream and lotion is the only product that relieves dryness and itching. Worth the money.

Not strong enough,

I have very dry hands, especially in the cold and dry months of the year. So I'm always on the lookout for an effective hand lotion. This is not it. It smells very nice and the tubes are attractive, but it is not for people with very dry skin. I have found that Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, Fragrance-Free (2 Ounces)is far more effective at a fraction of the price.
