The Able Tripod Cane Tip has so many good features it's hard to know where to begin. The cane stands by itself on most surfaces (the exception is spongy surfaces such as grass or very thick carpet). If it falls over, you can gently step on one of the "pods" and it will come back to an upright position. It makes going up steps much easier than using an old-fashioned quad cane and it is safer because it actually fits on the step. Most quad canes are very big and cumbersome especially when trying to go up or down steps. Due to it's slightly flexible nature, it is easier on my hand, wrist and shoulder than other canes I have used. It doesn't sink into soft surfaces like grass or sand which makes it much more reliable on those surfaces than a standard tip. I have used this tip on several canes now for over two years. I can't imagine doing without it, it is a great product.
