VOTE HERE FOR A BOX-SET...........,
By
This review is from: L.A. Law (DVD)
Like many others, I can't wait for it to be released on DVD. I would prefer all seasons being released in a complete box-set to start with instead of each season being released individually first.
If you agree with me please vote that this review was helpful. That way the distributors may consider this before the release. Thanks. EDIT (4/4/10): So now we have a situation where it has been discontinued even though it has never been released? Come on Amazon, we expect a better explanation than that please.

Bring L.A. Law to DVD!!,

L.A. Law was the best TV show of the late '80s-early '90s. I've been waiting years for the entire run of the show to be released on DVD; and I agree with J.Altair -- it should be released as a complete boxed set instead of a season at a time. C'mon, 20th Century Fox and Bochco...stop depriving us 'Law' fans of seeing these shows on DVD! Release it now!

Ever since Best Buy opened in our area, I've been looking for a boxed set of this entire series to appear, and I've been repeatedly disappointed.
Today I typed "TV series 'LA Law'" into my search engine and I found this collection of pre-release reviews on Amazon.com. Never before have I written a review of a (thus far) non-existent product in order to actually stimulate the producers to manufacture and market it... interesting. But I certainly hope these reviews DO have the desired effect. I found LA Law to be an in-depth exploration of pithy legal/ethical questions correlated with quirky and amusing interpersonal situations. It made me laugh out loud, and it made me ponder the astounding moral/ethical/legal conundrums that lawyers often face. It was a masterful balance of humor and drama. I absolutely loved this show, and I wouldn't miss a single episode. That 2-hour cast reunion movie just doesn't compare to the original series... sorry. You just cannot cram that sort of depth and complexity into a 2-hour summary. Just re-release all of the original episodes in chronological order in a DVD set for us, please. There is such a dirth of intelligent programming these days. Everything I find worthwhile seems to disappear all to quickly (case in point: Everwood) in a hail of disturbing reality shows and lame sitcoms written by sophomoric dweebs. The only sitcom I've enjoyed lately has been Malcom in the Middle. What happened to the writers of LA Law??? "The Practice" was a fine courtroom show, and so is Boston Legal, but nothing actually eclipses LA Law. They've all ridden its coattails. Bring it back to us in a complete boxed set. It will sell!!!

I can't believe this great TV series isn't on DVD... What's up here? I'll buy it in any form but a boxed set would be sooo wonderful. I never missed an episode and I want to watch it all again. Who out there agrees with me???

LA LAW,
This review is from: L.A. Law (DVD)
I was in Law School when LA Law first premiered in 1986. Virtually all my class agreed that the show was well-crafted and very accurate from a legal and procedural standpoint (unlike some other "lawyer" shows such a Matlock which is a "joke" in terms of legal and procedural accuracy). Additionally, this was probably the first lawyer show since the orginal Perry Mason in the 1950's to give the non-lawyer public a certain expectation as to how a trial should be conducted. In fact, my litigation professor started calling it the "LA LAW Effect". In reality, there is probably one lawyer in a hundred that can give a opening statement or closing argument like the lawyers on LA Law routinely did. Today, the CSI series is having the same effect on juries (including even in non-criminal cases). The jurors want to see the physical and forensic evidence because that is what they have come to expect from watching CSI. Bottom line, it's about time this series (particularly through 1991) was released.

i was 15 when i became aware of this series and the series was on its last season. now that i am in my late 20's, i want to watch this series from the start. it was shown in my country when i was still young, that i didn't even pay attention to the show. what would you expect from a 9 year old kid then?
hope the studio will produce this on DVD soon. it is my favorite courtroom drama.
