Unique singer/songwriter!,
By A Customer
This review is from: L.A.C.A. (Audio CD)
Wherever this talented performer has been hiding, she definitely needs more exposure. International exposure. A wide range of emotion, expression, and eroticism is evident, especially, in her latest CD, L.A.C.A. Desiree's music requires numerous listenings to fully appreciate the depth and nuances of her style, a tribute to her talent. Although she is an excellent blues singer/writer, and, obviously, writes about what she knows, one might find elements of jazz, folk, and big band influences in her music. I'm totally impressed.

An Incredible Follow-up to the first Masterpiece!,

Usually an artist uses up all their good stuff on their first album, but that isn't the case here! Desiree sounds fresher than ever. Every song on this album is of very high quality. It's a killer with no filler! There is nothing phony about this girl. She means business! Her vocals are very soulful and passionate and bursting with warmth and energy. The music is very crisp and melodic. If you like any of the popular female vocalist of the 70's through the 90's then you'll love this CD!

I came across this album by a strange route, but when I listeneed to it I loved it. Desiree's singing voice is extremely powerful: warm, emotional, well controlled, and has lots of 'texture'. I also found the lyrics were interesting -- they reminded me a little of Genesis in the way Desiree sometimes stretchs a few words right out and later compresses a lot more words into a shorter time. All in all a very satisfying experiance. Cheers -- Max
