1.0 out of 5 stars Beware of product!!
Having just received the product, I read the label, which says

Vitamin C 500 mg
L-glutathione 50 mg
L-Cysteine 200 mg

If glutathione is what you're after, you're pretty much getting an expensive vit. C pill.

if you want glutathione DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, it only offers 50 mg of glutathione, 200mg of cysteine and 500 mg of Vitamin C. "ITS JUST VITAMIN C with little traces of what you are expecting" BEWARE.

Did not contain enough L-Glutathione. Only 50 mg. Perhaps, just not enough pep in their peptides.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice combination to prevent hangovers, July 18, 2011

This review is from: L-Glutathione, L-Cysteine & C, 750 mg, 100 caps (Health and Beauty)
This combination of cysteine and vitamin C is very close to the one recommended by Steven Wm. Fowkes, editor of Smart Drug News, as a preventative/cure for hangovers. He wrote "I use capsules (because they dissolve fast) containing 200 mg cysteine plus 600 mg of vitamin C (with or without extra B-1). I take one before I start drinking, one with each additional drink and one when I'm finished." The included glutathione may work to prevent some of the conversion of cysteine to glutathione, leaving more of the cysteine available for metabolizing acetaldehyde (a metabolite of ethanol and the primary cause of hangovers).

Also, I don't think it's fair to rate this product poorly (as others have done) because it isn't what you want. It is clearly listed on the product page what it contains. "Capsule (750 mg) Servings Per Container 100 Amount Per Serving L-glutathione (reduced) 50 mg L-cysteine HCL 200 mg Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) 500 mg..." If other reviewers had read the description page they wouldn't have been disappointed when they got the product. They also complain there is not enough glutathione, but glutathione is synthesized in the body from cysteine, glutamic acid and glycine, with cysteine being the rate-limiting factor. In other words, you body will turn cysteine into glutathione if it needs to. So you aren't getting just 50mg, you're getting up to 250mg or so.

So don't let the haters turn you off of this one. It looks like the right combination of things to prevent or cure a hangover and the complaints really have nothing to do with the product itself.

Edit: After writing this review I discovered another product which is even more appropriate for preventing/eliminating hangovers: Life Extension Anti-Alcohol Antioxidant Capsules, 100-Count. It contains the cysteine, glutathione, B1 and many others that help.

4.0 out of 5 stars antioxidant, November 9, 2006
By
I've heard about this thru my sister who's in the Philippines. According to her, women go crazy for this antioxidant. Actually, I haven't tried it because I forgot about it. But people are using it and got good effect.
