If you are an over-methylator, have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia, Methylfolate 10 may not be right for you. Talk to your doctor. Some people may experience side effects from taking too much methylfolate. Time-released Niacin or Nicotinic Acid have been recommended to combat some of these 'over-methylation' reactions.

Product Description

Methylfolate 10 with Magnafolate-C contains the most bioactive nutrient form of folate available today (Methylfolate - often denoted as L-MTHF, L-Methylfolate, L-5-MTHF, (6S)-5-Methylfolate). This is the 'already converted' form of the vitamin that is immediately ready for the body's cells to use directly. Every bottle contains 90 GMO-free Chewable Tablets. Each tablet contains a high dose (10 mg) of methylfolate (or 10,000 mcg "free methylfolate"). Methylfolate 10 was formulated especially for people with genetic (MTHFR) defects, dietary or drug-induced need. It was designed to bypass the MTHFR gene defects and optimize the body's methylation process. This means you have more energy and motivation, get improved protection against toxins and disease, and just plain feel better. Methyl-Life gives you your quality of life back. High doses of L-Methylfolate may reduce depression, homocysteine levels, and the risk of cardiovascular disease. It may also increase energy and serotonin levels. Talk to your doctor to determine if taking high doses of Methylfolate is right for you. Methyl-Life's Methylfolate 10 has Magnafolate-C® which is an internationally patented (and US patent pending) calcium salt based L-5-Methylfolate product (specifically labeled as (6S)-5-MTHF, calcium salt). To learn more about the different forms of Methylfolate available in products today, visit us at: http://www.methyl-life.com/methylfolate-types. NOTE: This product now has a more potent version of methylfolate in it, so check the supplement facts carefully to ensure you're getting the expected number of mcg per serving.

If you're considering this, you are concerned about certain genetic variations regarding the conversion of dietary folate into methylfolate that will end up in your brain. The current research says a very high dose is needed for those who have the "bad" genes.

Regular methyfolate is not that easily absorbed. Quatrefolic is. The current research indicates a 15mg daily dose of regular methyfolate. I'm betting that a 10mg (or lower) dose of Quatrefolic will do the same job. It appears now that this product is the lowest cost 10mg dose of Quatrefolic.

Having been a 23andMe (DNA analysis service) member for years, only recently have I learned how to interpret my DNA variant report, specifically the methylation results, discovering that I do have the MTHFR genetic defect (A1298C and C677T mutations). I found the revelation more assuring than shocking, since I had many of the symptoms related to low methylation: chronic fatigue, mild to moderate OCD, fluctuating moods and mild depression since childhood, peripheral neuropathy for the past 10 years and, now in my 60s, disturbing memory loss.

I was introduced to Methyl-Life supplements by a friend whose own life had been radically improved just by taking these “vitamins,” something I would have had trouble believing if I hadn’t seen it myself. For three months now I’ve been taking four of the products, and I can say unequivocally: these supplements have improved my life in truly significant ways—so much so that friends are remarking how they’ve never seen me this alive, this vibrant and engaged.

Within the first few days I was feeling a noticeable difference, a sort of calm assurance that everything was “just right”—and I do mean everything. As a self-employed, overweight guy who sits all day and works all seven of them, I have a lot on my plate (besides food…but I’ll get to that later). And being somewhat skeptical, I created excuses for my good mood: Well, it’s spring, and the sun finally came out—who wouldn’t be happy; and I’d gotten a couple new clients, always an attitude boost for an entrepreneur; and my writing became easier, even better. Things were looking good, but really, all of this can’t be due to vitamins! Maybe it’s the placebo effect, I thought.

My wife was taking a different brand of L-Methylfolate, which suddenly shot up in price to nearly $80 - 100 a bottle recently.

So we figured we'd take a chance on this brand and so far so good. Seems to do exactly as what the other brand did with no ill effects. Will probably keep buying this brand as long as its cheaper than the other.

UPDATE:

Still loving this company. They are not skimping on the shipping, I placed an order late Monday evening and it arrived Friday, coast to coast - typical quick shipping. I like the newer "chewable" tablets. I use them sublingaully, seems to be a much better means of delivery when the stomach is bypassed. I have read and believe that it is best to let them completely dissolve under the tongue, which for me is about 45 minutes. I like the continued refinement in their of their web site, I read it in more depth and was happy to learn new and interesting things. I like the new labeling in which they are saying how much L-Methylfolate is in each tab instead of the amount of the delivery compound. Not that the old labeling bothered me, but this is quick and easy and clear. This is a company that listens to its customers, continues to provides new, high quality (I investigated) compounds and products, so they get my methylfolate and B12 business. They shared in an email that some reformulated products and new products are coming in October, I'm keeping watch for kids vitamins and a multi for me. Hint: you can also order from their web site to save on shipping. Five stars methy-life!

I love this company. Their web site is full of information. I emailed a question on a holiday and got a response the same day. I see a few other companies are selling Quatrefolic, but the customer service and quick shipping from this company is outstanding.

Yes you need 50% more more Quatrefolic than other forms methylfolate such as Merck's prescription Metafolin, but Quatrefolic is an equally high quality pharmaceutical.

I've been on this for 3 months now and dropped my overall cholesterol by 73 points. It has also improved many other biometrics. I can't say this will work for everyone but it works for me, thus the 5 star review. I haven't experienced any side effects either. My doctor is monitoring me every 3 months for this first year, so if there is a reason to update this review, I will. My recommendation is to try and monitor for results. It may not be for everyone.

This is a targeted "food supplement" for a specific genetic condition which causes pain medications to not pass thru blood vessels hampering relief. A 15 mg prescription of this for one month is about $125. This is 10 mg. an does not require a prescription. That is a really good deal! I will continue to purchase this.
