5.0 out of 5 stars Keith's breakthrough album, July 25, 2005
This review is from: L.A. To Miami (Audio CD)
Keith was a traditional country singer whose first release for RCA was a six-track mini-album that yielded three minor country hits. This follow-up was much more successful, with the first single (Miami My Amy) making the country top twenty and three others (Ten feet away, Hard living, Homecoming 63) making the country top ten although none of them got higher than nine.

The album also includes two classic songs (On the other hand, Nobody in his right mind would've left her) that others also recorded as well as some other great songs (I've got the heart for you, I get the picture, That stuff, Quitting time). So while this album did not make Keith a major star, it created a solid platform on which to build. The next album (Don't close your eyes) made him into a major star but his golden age was brief due to his premature death.

This may not quite match the brilliance of Don't close your eyes, but it is an excellent album that should please all fans of traditional country music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Complete the collection..., February 12, 2011
This review is from: L.A. To Miami (Audio CD)
This is a good album. It's still not quite as perfect as his next two albums, but it is very good in its own right. This record produced a hit or two for Keith, but even more surprising are the hits for other artists that are on here.

"On The Other Hand" would become a smash hit for Randy Travis just after Keith released it on this album.

"Nobody In His Right Mind Would've Left Her" would later become a smash hit for George Strait.

I really like a couple lesser known songs on here, but the entire album is really quite good. "Ten Feet Away" is a great song for anybody who's ever been a bar singer. You'll relate.
