5.0 out of 5 stars Re-instatement of the architect's reputation, December 7, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: L.N. Cottingham, 1787-1847: Architect of the Gothic Revival (Paperback)
Extremely well-written and illustrated book, precursor to an exhibition at The Ashmolean Museum in 1999 of this most influential but overlooked British Architect. A painstaking and scholarly analysis of his importance as restorer, engineer, designer, publisher and educator. Formidable first work over-turning historical bias.
